Réinitialiser l'Epson DX8450

Hello,

I'm desperately looking for a software (preferably free) that allows me to reprogram the chips of my cartridges on a DX8450 multifunction printer. Indeed, I have a color cartridge that is reported as empty, and I can't even print in black and white! Moreover, I haven't printed much since the last cartridge change, so I'm quite sure it's not empty.

During my research on the internet, I noted that this seems to be a large-scale scam by printer manufacturers. However, I can't believe that nobody has found a software workaround for this problem. In fact, I found a software (SSC Serve) that seems to work for some Epson printer models, but not for my DX8450.

If anyone has a tip...

Thank you.

good evening netmann44
do you have this problem with EPSON cartridges or generic cartridges???
I also own an epson dx8450, and when I tried to use generic cartridges
for obvious reasons of cost savings, I can't even tell you the various issues I had.
so after 2 attempts with different brands; I went back to EPSON brand cartridges and there...........no more problems.
it's more expensive but oh well. out of curiosity, I inquired with some
professionals and according to them, it would be EPSON that designs their printers in a way that makes their printers poorly accept generic cartridges. because supposedly to maintain their performance.

Hello

I encountered this problem some time ago and so I bought more supplies, and of course it happened again: my black cartridge is empty and it's impossible to print by mixing, in short, the scams from Epson.
During my first research, I even found a forum where someone said that there was a programmed shutdown of the printer after a certain threshold of hours of use, supposedly for safety reasons!
They really think we are fools! So I swear I will never buy anything from EPSON again but unfortunately, I think this kind of scam will generalize across all areas involving electronics (let's just say we are in deep trouble!)
That said, I also found the firmware reprogramming software http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml but be careful, you need to check the list of supported printers, otherwise, you risk rendering your printer inoperable.
They mention there is a procedure to report an unsupported printer (which is my case), I will try to see ...

Hello,

New attempt this morning. I bought a pack of cartridges and replaced the Cyan cartridge that the printer indicated was empty. Then I printed a few pages, strictly in black and white, and now the printer is asking me to change the Yellow and Red cartridges as well, even though I haven't used them!

From what I’ve read, this seems to be a large-scale scam from printer manufacturers, who profit from the cartridges and make sure they need to be changed as often as possible, even when it’s not necessary. Therefore, each time the printer is turned on, the level would drop even if nothing is printed.

What do you think? Should I change machines?

Thank you.

Hello,
likewise, I would advise you to change your printer or even the brand; I'm in the same situation today and I will have to buy a new printer.

It worked very well with generic cartridges (cheaper) and just by downloading a recent driver from the printer brand, it suddenly stopped recognizing the cartridges!!! Other than that, it seems it's not done on purpose to force us to buy their expensive branded cartridges! Anyway, I had some branded ones left, I put everything back, but that didn't work either.

Result: one afternoon spent on the phone with their technical service: they had me rubbing the cartridges with rags all day to tell me "you shouldn't buy a brand other than ours: it breaks the printers" ... and all the blah blah to get me to order over the phone with them! Pfffff ...

I know nothing about selling, but I would say it's almost forced sales! And it's not written on the box when you buy the printer. In my case, I bought this brand of printer because I couldn't afford a more expensive one, and given their system, I keep thinking that it's the less fortunate who get ripped off the most!!

Good luck!

Hi Netman,
Personally, I advise you to change your printer.
Sure, Epson is fast and of good quality, but in terms of consumption, it's the most expensive brand.
I recommend the latest Lexmark printers, which also have separate cartridges but are really economical (the entire S and PRO series).
You'll see the savings made in no time.

Hello,
I've had a similar problem with my DX8450 printer. The compatible cartridges worked for a few days and the last time, the printer told me it didn't recognize the 3 color cartridges and asked me to replace them!
I found a software called "AdjProg for CX8300" that allows you to reset the printer’s counters. For my problem, it didn't work because mine is an issue of cartridge recognition and not an empty cartridge, but apparently it works for empty cartridges (see https://refillingcartridge.com/
However, I made a mistake and reset the printer’s EEPROM and it ended up in a Chinese CX8300 version.
If someone could use the AdjProg program to read the EEPROM of their DX8450 and send it to me, I would be very grateful!

Have you found a solution for her to no longer be recognized as Cx8300, please? I'm having the same issue :/

.... Thank you

Solution: everything to the dump and buy an HP, because after using compatible cartridges, I bought EPSON cartridges, but everything had dried up. At least with HP, there are no such problems.

Hello everyone, the Epson topics are always a pleasure to discuss.

Compatible cartridges: there are different versions of chips depending on the series of machines released recently. Try getting a 2010 sx110 to accept an 'original' Epson cartridge ref 711 from 2008 for dx4400 and you'll see what I mean. Yet it is clearly marked 71x on the cartridges!

So if you buy a batch of compatible cartridges from Jetsky and a black one from Jetstream (silly nonexistent brands), you will certainly have a chip and version incompatibility issue.

Regarding counting hours: No, Epson doesn’t implement a countdown. Let’s be honest; it’s a cleaning counter for the print heads. Once it reaches 4000 (for example), it tells you “some parts need to be replaced, see a service center...” It simply means you need to replace the overflow foam and reprogram the counter with that famous SSCUtility.
But with the cost of labor, seriously: change your printer and brand.

Canon seems to be the most honest and when it comes to technology, they’re the best. Epson uses piezo heads; when they get clogged... they’re clogged! Canon uses bubble ink: when it clogs, a steam of ink and voila, like new.
But there isn't a single idiot to explain the basics to you: cartridge printers with integrated heads are very well suited for light users. A set of cartridges every two months. Printers with 4 cartridges are for heavy users, one set per month.
Comparing printers also means comparing cartridge capacities. Epson black 711: 7.4ml. Canon no. 8: 16 or 13ml I believe. But at the same price!
So printer deals for €49? Yes, you need to see what cartridges they take.
And the buyback of cartridges from certain retailers? It’s just a business, nothing eco-friendly: they buy a Canon PG40 cartridge for €1, sell it for €4 to a compatible manufacturer like MBP, LAMA, ARMOR... so sell them yourself. And stop using compatible ones and DIY refill kits... look at the state of your machines and your hands!

Hello everyone
:
I'm digging up this post because the information might be useful for all of us.
I’ve purchased several printers including some Epsons (Epson Stylus DX 8400).
Of course, I agree with you all:
Epson cartridges are a SCAM, a money trap for us, suckers.
Epson cartridges empty out, but it’s an electronic counter that counts the number of print clicks, and after a certain predefined number, the CPU (= the brain, the program of the printer) declares: cartridge empty when it is still a third full:

1) For example, an Epson 0711 cartridge weighs:
- Empty: 1g (really emptied by me by chopping it open with a chisel...... it was bloody!!!!!! hhououou!!!!)
- Full: 7g so it contains 6ml of ink.
- When declared empty, it weighs 3g (there’s 2ml of ink left, which is a third!!!!).

2) The generics sold for 7 euros and claiming 11ml (which is true) seem like a good deal but:
- Full: 12g
- Empty: 07g !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But empty because declared as such as always by the printer’s CPU:
In fact, there is still 6g left, meaning 6ml of ink PHEW, THAT'S A LOT................AT THE PRICE OF THE CARTRIDGE..........

3) There is a solution: resettable ink cartridges just by re-engaging them after refilling (for those who like to get their hands dirty with syringes and gloves).
For others, we re-engage them but don’t refill them: (because through a simple tubular system of 4 flasks each containing 100ml (interchangeable) placed outside the printer (on any support)).
Moreover, this type of cartridge is transparent which allows you to see the ink level:

There are several sites that sell them. As far as I’m concerned, I’m happy (price, ink quality, shipping, tracking, etc.....) with the site:
I clarify for the little whimsical finalists that of course I don’t work for this company............

Hoping to have helped you, that you find your happiness, and stop the headaches with these cursed cartridges and printers..............
see you later

Hi
You just need to disable Epson Status Monitor 3 in your printer settings.
Start-Control Panel-Printers and Faxes-"your printer"-Properties-
and check the box "Disable Epson Status Monitor 3".
It's a kind of software installed with your printer drivers that detects whether you are using original cartridges or not.
Bye

Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion. I did this but it doesn't change anything right away because the printer gets stuck as soon as it starts up, asking me to change the empty cartridge. Can it be reset at the hardware level?

Thank you.
