Solved

Hello,

I want to install my HP Deskjet 1280 printer on the Windows 7 operating system, but I can't seem to do it.
I also searched for this driver on the HP website, and they don't have it.
I'm a bit stuck because it's significantly slowing down my work pace.
Thank you for your help
Best regards,

Evrard

Hello, for this problem (for w7 64bit), I just solved it by downloading the vista 64 driver and installing the driver through the driver properties (system properties/device manager/(right click on HP deskjet1280) properties/(tab) driver/update driver/search on my pc/**location of the downloaded and decompressed file** and Windows installs "like a pro".

Hello!!!! The driver and software for your printer does not exist for Windows 7, but you can try this little workaround recommended by HP: there

Well, here it is, while looking for it, someone else found a start to a solution.

On the HP website they say: HP All-in-One Printers - Installing the Product with the USB Cable and Using the Windows Update Driver or the Driver Located in the Windows 7 Operating System.

In short: Install the device with a USB cable and use the Windows Update driver or the driver contained in the Windows 7 operating system.

    Hello

Well, if there is no Windows 7 compatible driver on the HP website, apart from trying the Vista driver (if available), I don’t see what else we can do, after all it’s the manufacturer of the printer.

I don't understand why HP, which is a major manufacturer, does not provide the Deskjet 1280 driver for Windows 7. I've followed all the procedures mentioned in this forum in vain.
1- After downloading and decompressing the driver for Vista, there is no exe file, only DLLs.
2- Following the procedure from peezeul, which worked well for three people, I receive the message that this driver is installed correctly at the end.

Help me, or will this printer be useless?

Thank you, peezeul, I was wrong, your method worked well on my two Toshiba C660 and with both Windows 7 Professional and Home systems.

    Thank you, peezeul.
