Well, I believed it nonetheless... until 10:38 this morning, pfff... what a pain this thing is.
My computer started at 9 AM (yes, I know it's early for a Sunday on Valentine's Day) and there, nothing happened, I thought hallelujah but no, actually.
I’ll keep this post open, maybe others will have other leads or who knows, THE solution finally, thanks for everything Ekim.
See you, Wil

Hi buddy, I have the same problem as you, mine is worse. He tells me that this update cannot be removed. Let me know if you have any news, thanks and have a good day.
Hey no, not yet, I had a break the other day when the latest Windows updates (March 2010) came out: I no longer had the yellow bubble indicating that I had updates, but I still had it when I shut down my PC.
And now it has gone back to how it was before, I have my girlfriend the yellow bubble every day.
Apparently on some forums I have browsed in English, some think it is also a way to bring to light pirated versions of Windows XP. Personally, mine is genuine so I haven't found any other solutions for now.
See you later, Wil

Hi, I'm not a tech whiz and I had the same problem. After many formulas and attempts, I accidentally resolved the issue after dealing with a GPS program I had installed.
It was after removing it that the update returned to normal.
My symptoms: Shield constantly coming back after downloading an update of 0 bytes and 0 minutes.
Good luck.

A lead to explore, you never know... I'll check my software installations close to this update.
Thanks for the tip.
Best regards
Wil

Well, I decided to let it go; if someday someone has an explanation, I'm still interested.
For now, I unchecked the update and confirmed that I didn't want that particular update anymore; the others keep arriving normally, and everything is going very well.
