Hello,
Still stuck with my layers that are hiding where?
My layers disappear (starting from the 2nd one) when I copy and paste with Photofiltre, and I don't know how to bring them back up
Who can help me, because I've read and reread the tutorials, it seems obvious for some, not for me!
Thank you very much

Good evening,
This question has already been asked, but it was for Gimp.
The answer was that you simply needed to enlarge the layers window.
But for Photofiltre, I can't tell you, I don't know, maybe... well, give it a try.
Have a good evening

Hello La Poyaude,
Are you using PhotoFiltre Studio now? I don't really understand your question... :-/

Hello Luke,
Sorry if I was too brief, but I already explained this a few days ago.
Indeed, I'm "trying" Photofiltre Studio before deciding to buy it, either that one or another...
You have already helped me with my photo montages using the free Photofiltre.....
So here it is: I would like to insert an animated gif into an image using Photofiltre. I open the image, I open the gif as layers: all the layers (9) and the image are displayed on the left side of the screen. OK
Copy on the 1st layer, paste on the image, ok
and at that moment, all the layers disappeared from the left side of the screen....
(I noted the position of the gif to repeat it for the others, I even modify it to make it a bit larger)
How do I load the second layer, then the others?
I also tried loading the gif as a normal file (not as a layer) = same result.
I'm looking on tutorials, but it seems so obvious for the regulars that I can't find my answer.

Hello,
Normally, you should have all your layers aligned to the left, but if the number is relatively large, you will never see them all, so to make them appear, you have two small arrows (triangles) at the bottom of the layers window to scroll through them. Then, to create your GIF, go to Tools --> Animated GIF --> set your time, check "Loop," and click on export, choose the name of the GIF and the location where you want to save it, and click on save.

Too late to edit the first post but I just remembered something, go to View -> Layer Thumbnails and check "Standard Size" if it's not done or if it was accidentally unchecked....

Hello Luke,
Yes, the size of the thumbnails is indeed standard.
I'll quickly explain what I'm doing
I open an image = background
I open: layer, new, open as layer, click/the chosen one,
so, on the left: there is the background with the chosen image, on top 1 only layer 1 (1) the gif is not on top, (there are only black and white checkers) and the gif is already in the middle of the image....
No other layers on the left, from the start, no triangles at the bottom...
I'll be offline tonight,
Thank you, and see you later.

I don't know if we understand each other well....
If you open a background and then an image as a layer, it will give you this http://ioj.com/v/f6dvy
If you open your image and try to open a GIF as a layer, it will give you this http://ioj.com/v/0vzpu but your GIF is dead and you won't have a single correct image from your GIF. To have a GIF correctly, you need to import it, which means going to File --> Import --> Animated GIF and once it is broken down, paste it layer by layer onto the background, then you go to animation, etc....

Hello Luke,
Indeed, we’re having a hard time being on the same wavelength.
Okay, I understand everything you’re explaining to me. I’ve tested everything. I’ve understood the difference between putting a still image on another image, or "overlaying" an animated gif on another image.
With the new Photofiltre Studio, the terms are a bit different, but we can manage.
Where I’m stuck, since the beginning, is this: I do have, at one point, on the left, all the layers of the gif (decomposed).
Click/ the first one at the bottom (the one without a number) then paste on the image.
At that moment, all the layers that were on the left disappear, and only the thumbnail of the background and that of the first layer remain, without the drawing of the gif, but with black and white checkers;
The gif is now on the image, and I can modify its position or size.
And that’s IT: I can’t do the same with the other layers: they are gone.
I’ve never gone further than that.
It’s starting to get on my nerves, but it’s not vital! So... we’ll see.
Thanks for your help, and see you soon.

Hello La Poyaude,
If other layers have an eye and a red cross on top, it means they are hidden and you can no longer see them in your main window. Right-click on the layers with a cross over the eye and check "Visible" http://ioj.com/v/6nz0t and then you'll see them again in your window...
I hate this software and, on top of that, it's paid......... :-(((

re, Luke
This afternoon, I found a way to remove the eye and the cross, but it doesn't change the "copy-paste" that deletes them... I've looked through several tutorials...
So, since you hate it and you know your stuff, I'm uninstalling before I pay...
I'm giving up!
I'm going to download another one... not too complicated...
Thanks a lot, have a good evening, and see you soon

There must be something I'm missing that I can't figure out. Since there are tons of people using it, it can't be that bad and shouldn't be too complicated, but since day one, I haven't felt good about this software; I don't like it. I still prefer GIMP, which isn't easy either, and I can't do anything very sophisticated with it. Try it out as long as you have it, since you have it for a month for free, and if it still doesn't work for you by the end, just uninstall it and that's it. I have mine because I bought it thinking it would be a bit more pleasant than the free PhotoFiltre, and in the end, I never use it; just seeing it open bothers me. Another thing, you should ask Transat; if I remember correctly, I believe he has one in studio version and knows how to use it well...

Too late, Luke, but it's okay
I uninstalled Photofiltre Studio, and anyway, I had to pay for it in 26 days.
I installed Gimp and I have 26 days to test it and get familiar with it.
In 26 days, I should have an idea of my skills, or my... incompetence
At that point, I'll see, but if no one gives me the solution to my current problem: Bye Bye Photofiltre!
Thanks for everything
and no worries.
See you soon

Koikoikoikoi....? Is it a scam!?
Where did you download this GIMP to try? I know there are sites that talk about trial versions or even charge for downloading GIMP, but GIMP is FREE FOR LIFE just like the Open Office suite. It would be a shame if you were on a trial for a free product and had to pay.... :-(((

Hello Luke, how are you doing? :-)
Yes Luke, you’re right to react, I came across a site last week that charged for downloading free software... what a joke. In my opinion, it's a scam of the same kind.

Oh! la! la what a mess!!!
It's not Gimp that is on trial!
It's the time I have left before I have to pay for Photofiltre studio. So: for these 26 days, I'm "having fun"??" with Gimp. If it's good, and if I still have no explanation for my initial problem with Photofiltre: I'll keep Gimp
If I've been sorted out with Photofiltre, and Gimp seems too complicated to me: I'll buy the paid version of Photofiltre studio
For me, it's clear and for both of you??
A thousand apologies if I've caused a mess, but it's completely unintentional!!!
see you later
Have a good evening, and....stay calm

Haben like that, have fun with PhotoFiltre while you're not paying for it and try to get familiar with GIMP. There are hundreds of good tutorials online and all the useful information is here: https://docs.gimp.org/2.6/fr/index.html
Have a good evening.

Hello Luc, and good evening
Since our last message, I've searched through a lot of tutorials, and I found the solution in one of them.
It's quite simple: I just needed to move the background image to the right: they're underneath!
I just tried it, and it's okay, albeit still imperfect, but I know how to go all the way: that’s already something
My learning will continue
Thank you for not being discouraged!
Have a good evening, and see you next time

Good evening Madmyke,
And in your flat and foamy country, how's it going? ;-)
They're not stupid, those guys: French law obviously does not allow the sale of free products, so to make money and stay legal, they defend themselves by arguing that this law states that one cannot charge for what should be free, but it allows for the payment of the service. This way, they stay within the law and only charge for the service. You go to a bar (I know there aren't any where you are) and you ask for a glass of water; well, it's illegal to charge you for it, yet you're going to pay: you're going to pay for the service. Charging for the service is legal, and since they set up their servers for you to download, it's normal for them to charge for free software: they claim they're providing a service by allowing you to download from less overloaded servers, and so it's legal..... :-((((
Kind regards.
Luke.

Yes, this kind of practice is scandalous but it's not something that is lacking on the net.... Unfortunately.

Not the thumbnail, the layers panel
