Thomson TV without remote control locked

Hello, I have a problem with my cathode-ray TV for which I don't have a remote control. It's magically stuck on a menu with language options! Even if I turn it off and back on, the language selection reappears. The problem is that on the TV there are only 4 BUTTONS: 2 for volume and 2 to change the channel! None of these buttons interact with my TV! This TV is only used for the game console, which is why I haven't bought a universal remote! Please help me if you have any methods to suggest; I would be thrilled!!! :)
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.5.6

    Me too, I have the power button to put it in sleep mode and the + and - keys, and it doesn't work at all. I kept getting that annoying language screen popping up all the time. Grumpf!

      To all the people who have a Thomson TV, if it is locked, you need to do as I will tell you!!
      Turn on your Thomson TV with the button on your TV and immediately after, release your finger from the power button and press and hold the menu button on the TV until it works (about 10 seconds).

      I have the same problem: the screen is stuck on the language selection menu and I no longer have a remote control for a Thomson CRT TV. Have you found a solution, please? (Pressing + and - at the same time does not work in my case, whether it's for the volume or channel selection. Besides, there is only one long button for each of these two functions with [ - ] on the left and [ + ] on the right, so it's impossible to press both at the same time).
