WIA driver issue

Hello,
it's been a while since this has been hanging around, I have a problem with my multifunction printer and I hadn't looked into the issue before because I didn't have much need for it, but with Christmas approaching, it's quite likely that I might need it. Let me explain the problem and how it happened.

Since I installed Windows Seven, my printer/scanner no longer functions as a scanner. I did use the installation CD that was provided for the installation of Vista (the OS I had before switching to Seven), but I still only had the printer and not the scanner. When I click on "scan a document or photo," it tells me this: "You need a WIA driver to use this device. Install it from the installation CD or the manufacturer's website and try again."
So, I've spent quite a bit of time searching the internet and looked on my manufacturer's website, HP, but I can't find where to download the WIA, I don't know what to do anymore.

PS: My printer/scanner is a HP Deskjet F4180

Configuration: Windows 7 Firefox 3.5.6

Re,

Disconnect your printer from the PC and uninstall everything related to your printer in Add/Remove Programs,
software and drivers for your printer.

Run a cleanup with Ccleaner and restart your PC.

Then click on the HP link provided above and simply try "Install automatically".

Only connect the printer when the HP installer program asks for it.

(If Windows says New hardware detected etc..., click on cancel).

I will try to do this, but what do you mean when you say "in Add/Delete"?
And also where do you see "Install automatically" in the link you gave me?

For the rest, no problem, I understood what I have to do.

Re,

Add/Remove programs:
Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall a program.
Or in the "Run" menu type appwiz.cpl then OK.

HP link:
If you click on the first Driver file (245.67 MB) another window opens and you have two options. Either click "Install Automatically" or download the file to your desktop "Download Immediately". Don't forget to read Display Instructions.

As for the CD/DVD command, it's clear.

The update and the utility may already be included in the 245.67 MB file. (To be checked). Download them anyway to your desktop just in case a fix is needed.
