Hello,

I would like to know how to remove the ground pin from an extension cord. I absolutely need to remove it because it causes interference with my sound system when I connect my laptop to mains power....

Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.15

No, but this is completely diverging from the topic; the question was how to remove the ground pin from the extension cord, not to know if it was dangerous or to distort the subject.

    Thank you.

It's dangerous! Therefore, it's not advisable; there's no need to cause additional deaths.

Yeah, I think I've seen that! You just need to put some tape and a small piece of cardboard, but it's dangerous... ^^

Otherwise, I was told to disassemble the extension cord and cut the ground wire, but I can't do it....

The earth is not something that can be removed lightly; it is a safety measure. If it carries parasites, I will first check its continuity in the installation and its value.

Well, I don't know, it connects to a chain, I even think it's not plugged in ^^

You're not serious there; how can you claim she brings parasites if she's not plugged in!

It doesn't come from the earth but from bad contacts on the sockets.

Well, that doesn't change anything, plugged in or not, think about it, it's the metal inside (copper) that interferes with the other two cables...

The parasites and interferences I know well, but here I'm having trouble following; it's low frequency! And to protect against parasites, we use shielded cables connected to ground.

what is the danger aside from frying the computer? you can't get electrocuted with plastic.
