Hello, I want to disable the file backup in Windows 7 (Control Panel --> System and Security --> Backup and Restore). It asks me to insert a disk for the backup once a week, but I do not wish to use this backup. Thank you for your help.

Change the Maintenance Center settings (in the left column)

uncheck 'Windows Backup'

I was also looking for a solution because the backup tries to run every time I start up, and I can't stop it, and it's annoying. I found an idea although it doesn't work yet, but I think I need to restart my PC. Let me know if it works for you:

Go to Control Panel (in the start menu)
Security
Administrative Tools
Services

Disable the backup service and stop it if it's running. Good luck!

Features of incremental Windows backup:

Advantages: multiple versions of files available in case of data loss
