Hello,
I want to disable the file backup in Windows 7 (Control Panel --> System and Security --> Backup and Restore). It asks me to insert a disk for the backup once a week, but I do not wish to use this backup. Thank you for your help.

Configuration: System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Computer: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz 6.00 GB of RAM Internet: Internet Explorer 8.0 Orange 18 megamax

Control Panel -> System and Security -> Backup and Restore

Left column: Disable scheduling.

Control Panel

Maintenance Center
>>
Change the Maintenance Center settings (in the left column)

uncheck 'Windows Backup'

Thank you for the idea of the services.

We can also do: Key combination [The one with the Windows logo]+[R] > type "msconfig" > Services > disable

I was also looking for a solution because the backup tries to run every time I start up, and I can't stop it, and it's annoying. I found an idea although it doesn't work yet, but I think I need to restart my PC. Let me know if it works for you:

Go to Control Panel (in the start menu)
Security
Administrative Tools
Services

Disable the backup service and stop it if it's running. Good luck!

  Don't be condescending, we can also deactivate something that takes time and memory however we want...
  
  And if he makes mistakes, it's the best way to get it into his head to make backups, if he really needs them. Personally, I have absolutely NO use for it.
