Hello, I would like to know if you have found a solution because I have the same problem with my Nokia E71; neither when I'm called nor by SMS do my contacts display, I only have the number. I tried deleting my contacts from my SIM and only keeping my contacts in the phone's memory, but nothing works? Thank you for helping me if you have the solution.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

It's a bit late, but this could be useful for future buyers of the Nokia E71.
If when you receive a call, the name and number of the contact do not display, try checking this:

_ There shouldn't be any duplicates in your contacts (for example, two "Charles" assigned to the same number or not. So call him "Charles II" ^^).

_ Next, your contacts must be saved to the phone memory, not the SIM card. Delete contacts from the SIM card if necessary and keep only those in the phone memory.

_ Whether the recorded contact number starts with +33 or 06 doesn’t matter; that's not the problem.

_ Then check that the caller's name is enabled in:

Menu -> Tools -> Modes -> Select the mode with the left key "options" -> Customize -> Caller ID -> Enabled.

_ Lastly, one more thing that hasn't been mentioned on the forums, which resolved my issue:
Check the compatibility of your installed skins (themes other than those already present). I had downloaded a skin via my PC. Everything was working fine, except for this issue of the incoming caller's name not displaying. By chance, I changed it, and the issue was resolved!

For anything you don't understand, I will be happy to respond =)

Hoping I have been clear and concise!

Great answer. It works by deleting the duplicate contacts from my SIM card.

I had the same issue with the Nokia E71; at the end of my contact list, there were these numbers listed as (without name) + the first names in the contacts, so the "without name" takes precedence and the number is displayed instead of the first name. Anyway, thank you for enlightening me =)

Hi, I received my E71 phone this morning, and when inserting my SIM card, it doesn't read it. What should I do?
On my old phone, all my numbers were saved on the SIM card, I've checked, and now I can't read it. Let's say the manual doesn't explain much.
Thank you in advance for your reply, it's quite urgent.

Unfortunately, you have to copy them one by one.

Under the "SIM" contacts, go to "SIM directory", then under each person, select options, then "copy to contacts".

I managed to copy everything at once; it transferred all the contacts directly to the phone.
