Email setup on Nokia E71 Solved

Question

Hello,
I have set up my email addresses on my new Nokia E71 and I am trying to retrieve my messages but to no avail.
Can you help me? There is probably a configuration issue; do I need to do something with Orange?

Yes, I can't configure yahoo.fr on my E71 either. The push mail only works with my Gmail account.
Does anyone have the solution?
I also downloaded Nokia messaging, but it gave me different configuration parameters.

Incoming server: e.mx.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing server: the same
and mailbox type IMAP 4

I thought I knew that the Yahoo server was a POP3

I have the same problem with my Nokia E71; I can't retrieve my emails (Hotmail address). The automatic configuration doesn't seem to have worked and I can't fix this issue.

Hello, I managed to set up my work email on my E71 (using the same settings as for my Outlook), I receive emails perfectly, but I can't send any. Does anyone have an idea of what’s going on? Regarding outgoing emails, should I use the configuration for the Orange server?

Hello everyone, I have an Illimytic iPhone 3G+ plan
I managed to configure my yahoo.fr email address
I can send and receive emails, but regarding my orange address everything is fine, but when it comes to changing the outgoing mail server, I don't understand why it refuses as soon as I enter smtp.orange.fr!!!

I'm lost and I need help, it's really just at this level that I'm getting frustrated, plus telephony is my field, but I'm a bit annoyed to be stuck on something so simple!!!

Hello, I managed to set up my mailboxes.

My phone - Nokia E71
My provider - SFR
My plan - "Forfait Illimythics 3G+ Full Internet 2H"
My mailbox - hotmail

Step 1. Configure access point. Menu - Tools - Settings - Connection - Access points - Option - New access point - Connection Name (SL2 SFR) - Data bearer (Packet data) - Access point name (sls2sfr) - Username (I put none) - Password (if you want) - Authentication (secure) - Homepage.

Step 2. Configure the mailbox.
Incoming emails. Username (xxxxxxx@hotmail.com) - Password (the one for your mailbox) - Incoming mail server (pop3.live.com) - Access point used (SL2 SFR) - Mailbox name (hotmail.com) - Mailbox type (POP3) - Security ports (SSL/TLS) - Port (by default) - Secure APOP connection (Disabled).

That's it.

configuration to receive and send emails from orange clients with a Nokia 5230
incoming server pop.name of the ISP
for the outgoing server I used the orange server smtp.mobile number with 10 digits.orange.fr
and it works.

To send and receive emails, you need to configure the Nokia E71 as follows;
1) click on the Email box located to the right of the Joystick
2) go to options and select Email settings
3) then open Incoming Email settings and change the name of the incoming mail server to Imap.neuf.fr instead of imap.sfr.fr
4) go back and open outgoing email, here too, you need to change the server name to stmp.neuf.fr
By adopting these changes, my E71 works perfectly.
Nb: I bought it two days ago at SFR
If you are with a different service provider than SFR, you need to change the incoming and outgoing names while keeping Imap and stmp roots.

For example: imap.free.fr and stmp.free.fr

With the illimythics 3G+ plan, can I freely check my Yahoo emails on the Yahoo site? My question might seem silly, but I read somewhere on a forum that it could get restricted on Gmail, for example.
I'm really lost with this plan!!!!

Hello,  I just bought a Nokia E71 and I'm with SFR, but I'd like to connect to Wi-Fi with my SFR box instead of 3G because I don't have an internet plan! HOWEVER, every time I connect to the internet, the Nokia automatically connects in 3G and I don't have the option between my box server and 3G!! I want to specify that I've set up the phone with the WEP key of my box, so in the option to listen to web radios, it WORKS, I can listen to them via my Wi-Fi, BUT I can't browse on Wi-Fi, I don't understand??? Can anyone help me please?  Thank you

Hello,   I have set up my Nokia E71 mobile to receive emails at xxxx.xxx@wanadoo.fr, but when I change the settings to receive emails from Gmail, it doesn’t work.. do you have any idea??  On another note, is it possible to receive 2 email inboxes (Wanadoo and Gmail) on the Nokia E71?  Thank you

Welcome to the club. I've been calling customer service for over a month, being shuffled between technical support, and nobody can tell me why my e71 won't sync my emails anymore. I deleted it and wanted to reinstall my mailbox, but nothing works!!!!

Attention:  I really don't understand why there are offers on the internet, like "how to turn your phone into a 'tracker', to make your friends believe you can 'track' them? I have a Virgil SIM card. I didn't read the fine print of the 'contract.' However, it was fine with quite a few operators... except mine. So I don't understand why I was charged the amount of 'THREE EUROS' all at once, while I couldn't do anything with their thing.  Naively, one thinks that if the SMS 'goes through', then it will be possible. This 'allows them' to make money without providing 'any services' in return. Not stupid, but it looks very much like fraud, doesn't it?

Si vous souhaitez configurer votre messagerie sur votre téléphone, vous devez entrer l'adresse du serveur de messagerie de Yahoo. Pour Yahoo Mail, voici les paramètres que vous devez utiliser :

Serveur de réception (IMAP) : imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port : 993
    Serveur d'envoi (SMTP) : smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port : 465 ou 587

Assurez-vous également d'utiliser votre adresse email complète et votre mot de passe pour vous connecter.

Good evening, I have configured my phone to receive emails from my three email accounts "orange," "yahoo," and "Gmail" every 3 hours, but it downloads all my emails that I have in my inboxes (I have over 250 in Gmail). My question is: can I configure it so that it only downloads new emails and not all the old ones as well?
