Hello,
I have the Nokia E71 and I would like to set up my hotmail.fr mailbox.
The problem is that I don't have the incoming POP3 or outgoing server????
I am with SFR illimitic 3H from 8 PM to 8 AM every night and it’s unlimited on weekends.
NO ONE AT SFR TOLD ME IF MY EMAIL CHECKING IS FREE OR NOT, KNOWING THAT THE OFFER INCLUDES FREE SMS/MMS/WAP/INTERNET/20 TV CHANNELS 24/7.
PLEASE
THANK YOU ALL AND I’M NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS

Hello,
I finally managed to set up my emails. (hotmail and a Russian mailbox (from my origin)
My phone - Nokia E71
My provider - SFR
My plan - Illimythics 3G+ Full Internet 2H plan.
Step 1. Configure Access Point
Menu - Tools - Settings - Connection - Access Point - Option - New Access Point - Connection Name (SL2 SFR) - Data bearer (Packet data) - Access Point Name (sl2sfr).
Step 2. Mailbox configuration (Hotmail)
Connection settings - Incoming email - Username (xxxxxx@hotmail.com) - Password - Incoming mail server (pop3.live.com) - Access point used (SL2 SFR) - Mailbox name (hotmail.com) - Mailbox type (POP3) - Port security (SSL/TLS) - Port (Default).
Outgoing emails - My email address (xxxxxxx@hotmail.com) - Username (xxxxxx@hotmail) - Password - Outgoing mail server (smtp.live.com) - Access point used (SL2 SFR) - Port security (Start TLS) - Port (587).

Hello everyone,
I own a Nokia E71 with a 2-hour illimythics plan (not the illimythics iPhone or Full internet). Therefore, I only have access to the wapsfr gateway and not sl2sfr. Selja's method is indeed correct for iPhone and Full internet (sl2sfr), but not with the standard illimythics (wapsfr).
Nokia email uses the default active gateway (wapsfr for me), so that's a no-go. Personally, I found a solution for Symbian-type phones (and others too), which is the emoze application. It allows for push mail directly on the phone. It supports Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, exchange accounts, Facebook, basically almost everything. It integrates perfectly with the phone (your accounts appear in the phone's messaging, you reply to your emails as if you were sending a text, attachments...). There are just two downsides: I only found the app in English, which isn't very pretty, but I'm waiting for a potential update; the second downside, which isn't really a downside if you set up the app properly: the battery can drain quickly if the app is "pushing" all the time.
Well, after all, it's a personal choice; I wanted a relatively professional phone, and it's not fair for an operator to limit its capabilities...

Hello,
it is impossible to receive your hotmails directly on the E71.
This is possible with POP and IMAP emails but not with Microsoft's HTTP protocol.
You have to go through Hotmail's webmail (www.hotmail.fr)
See you later!

Hi, I think it depends on the plan you have because in the full internet package from SFR, the option to read emails is included. So if you don't have this option, you won't be able to access your emails on your mobile.
Yes, Gail, you are right... at first, I took a BlackBerry, so I had the full internet option in my subscription, but I exchanged my BlackBerry with my son for the E71, which is easier for me...
I then deleted the option and since then nothing works while I was managing just fine!!!
So I called SFR and they had me go through them, they told me I would receive texts every time I got an email, but nothing... so I think there must be another manipulation to do regarding the settings...
Really not good at this, Jess... help, can someone assist me please!!!

Hello
for the POP it's pop.SFR.fr and for the SMTP it's smtp.SFR.fr if your ISP is SFR of course!
--
Happy is he who, like the river, can follow its course without leaving its bed!

you have to go through your ISP since it's the one that stores the mail. So if the ISP is SFR it's like I told you. You can try replacing SFR with Hotmail, it won't cost anything!

PLEASE HELP ME WITH YOUR SOLUTION??
Bullshit...
I'm on Hotmail and I'm receiving my emails normally without going through Google or the web, but directly through the app designed for it.
The incoming server is: pop3.live.com and the outgoing server is: smtp.live.com
Add your Hotmail address and your password, then you'll see that life becomes so beautiful.
As a little bonus, you can use Nokia Messenger to pull in other email addresses from different messaging accounts (for example: MobileMe, AIM, etc.)
That's all folks!!!

Hello superrappin' :) !!!
I tried your method, I wasn't able to retrieve my emails on the app for that purpose.
I tried:
incoming email: pop3.live.com
outgoing: smtp-auth.sfr.fr or mail.sfr.fr or smtp.live.com
But nothing retrieves my emails, when I try to connect via mobile internet, I get an error message: "general: operation timed out".
So I don't know what I'm doing wrong...
Could you help me?
Thank you very much.

No, no, I haven't read the entire forum, but I, having the Nokia E71, receive on one side my work emails, and on the other side my Hotmail inbox.
I followed the entire process WELL.... but when I go to my messages and try to connect it tells me that the packet data is unavailable
I have an E71, I connect via WiFi, I have a blocked SFR subscription.
