Unable to open an installation package

Hello everyone,
I have a problem during an installation...
I put in the CD, it starts automatically, and when I click to start the installation, it prepares and suddenly I get this message that says "Cannot open this installation package. Verify that it exists and that you have permission to access it, or check with your application vendor to ensure that this Windows installer package is valid."
I haven't searched through the forums because others have issues with Windows Installer, unfortunately I haven't found a solution to my problem.
Can you help me?
