Hello,
I would like to know where the files go that we "open with" ,
let me explain: when you want to download a file you have the choice between Save as and Open with through a series of prompts. Yesterday evening I made a mistake and I chose "Open with" for a file larger than 4GB. Once the download finished I was surprised to see, instead of the download folder, the associated program for this file opening...
So I would like to know if I can recover this file to put it "normally" on my hard drive, for example from the cache or something like that...
P.S. wanting to know where these so-called files go, I relaunched a download to see which folder was "growing" and I saw that it was this one: C:\Documents and Settings\<mscofield>\Local Settings\Temp but I let you discover what it hides =P

pc are like pokemons: the more powerful they are, the less they obey you... -
up, yes after rereading I acknowledge it then:
Hello, could someone tell me where Mozilla places the downloaded files when using "open with"?
Thanks ;) -
Logically, when you choose "open with," nothing ever downloads indefinitely onto your PC; it's a kind of temporary download that happens. To recover your file, you must therefore save it.

well they have to go somewhere, right?
because afterwards we can work with, for example, an mp3 we will be able to listen to it so...
and it would surprise me that with 1 GB of RAM I could store a 4 GB file xD -
You have to see it in Windows Explorer.

how's that?
with the search function ??
already tried and found nothing, I think it’s in a hidden directory -
Then go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders
