Error 0X80042108 on Outlook

Hello,
I have two partitions on my laptop (Ubuntu Hardy and Vista Professional).
On Ubuntu, I configured the Thunderbird email client with the following settings:
Incoming server: imap.mydomain
Outgoing server: smtp.mydomain
The email works fine both internally and externally.
However, when I configure the same settings on Outlook 2007 on Vista,
here is the error message I receive when sending an email:
! The task "firstname.lastname@mydomain -Sending" encountered an error (0X80042108):
"The operation timed out while waiting for a response from the sending server (smtp).
If you continue to receive this message, contact the server administrator or your Internet Service Provider (ISP). "
