Is this the end of the E3b.org host? Solved

Hello,
My site was (still is ^^) hosted by E3b.org, which seemed to be the best free host...
For a few days now, there has been a failure; the webmaster tells us it should be fixed soon, but since yesterday, there is a not very positive message on their site.... http://www.e3b.org
Should we think that this is a definite end?
In any case, it is true that we can hardly complain since it's a free hosting!
However, the webmaster is leaving us a bit stranded, and it's somewhat difficult for the management of our site, and I don't think I'm the only one in this case =)
What do you think? Does anyone have any more recent info?

Hello everyone.

My brother, who is a lawyer, helped me with my steps against e3b.org. They are diverting the URLs of hosted sites for their racist message. Moreover, their story about Allo pass is completely false. We learned that several people have taken steps against them for their racist remarks. Mr. Alexandre is supposedly hiding in Canada, which is totally false. We have contacted the fraud service, and an investigation is underway against the e3b.org host because, as I mentioned earlier, several complaints have been filed. So the only thing to do is to file a complaint either with the Fraud Services or with the Human Rights Services. For your information, a lawyer is offered to you for free. Hoping that the maximum number of people block this kind of individuals.

For the page, there must have been an update because there are no more redirection messages. I'm wondering if this was intentional because I'm afraid that most of the hosted sites have redirected to other sites. We'll see!

I was able to recover the database during the few days they were offering it. Unfortunately, not the files ;(  I hope for a response, or at least the possibility to recover my files via FTP so I can switch to someone else.

The server has been ready to be put back into production since October 3. But since it takes a few hours to bring it back to the data center AND the wonderful disparaging comments have destroyed the little motivation left for the admins, the return is deliberately delayed. One really has to be ignorant to confuse the Bible with the satanic movement. It's blasphemy, there are no other words. I am ashamed. ASHAMED. PS: "Not happy" and "Merlin," your wish has been granted, your two accounts have been deleted. Thank you for your support!

The server will be taken back to the data center on October 7 in the evening, and normally by October 8 your sites (except for those of "Not happy" and "Merlin" who requested their deletion) should be back online. As everything has been reinstalled, there are still things to configure. The panel and the site www.e3b.org will therefore return gradually.

An A/H1N1 flu issue forces us to delay the service restore. If the service cannot be restored before Friday, we will find a way to make backups available for those who want them. I apologize for the inconvenience. For those wondering if this is a joke, no this time it’s true, the person in charge of our internet connection seems to be sick, which temporarily renders them unavailable to restore our network.

Update October 9, 2009  Message to further annoy those who find it long and who think they’re better than us: First of all, I sincerely hope that one day you will know the difference between professional service and free service. If e3b were a constant source of income, I would invest much more. I’m sorry, but I don’t have 5000 euros a month to spend just to host the whole world for free. I am not free.fr, which generates millions in profits. So once and for all, if we don’t have 19 machines with 800 spare parts and haven't traveled 100km to find the famous PSU, it’s because it’s simply not worth it. I already dedicate two of my machines to e3b as well as a lot of time and money. I wake up when there’s a down at 3am as well. Why should I do more for a bunch of ingrates? You are not in a position to pay for hosting, so I do it for you. In return, you accepted that the service could be interrupted.  A brand new server has been prepared to replace the server that just failed. Next, I contacted my host to change the machine in the rack. I can and I want to do nothing more. E3b will be back online when our ISP is available, end of story. I will not pressure my ISP, I will not contact another of their representatives and I will patiently wait for a response to my two emails from a week ago. Maybe sickness is an excuse not to work, but whatever: we’ll get to invoke the SLA and get a month or two free.  As a reminder: E3b is not a democracy. We accept complaints. But nothing obliges us to retain those who persist. Moderators and administrators all have the right to delete the accounts of those who do not deserve to have a space.  When a cleanup has been done (removal of unwanted individuals), a system will be put in place for those who wish to recover a backup of their site. Isn’t that nice? You call us incompetent, bad hosts, disdainful and arrogant, but you don’t turn down a backup, do you? Luckily we do it for you.  This long message is addressed ONLY to those who think that we are OBLIGED to invest more money in e3b and that they have the RIGHT to DEMAND impeccable service (while remaining free, of course). For those who are unhappy (and/or in a hurry) and simply want to leave without issues; everything will be done to return your data as soon as possible.

I also paid €3, I signed up in June (if I remember correctly)  so that makes 4 months of service for €3.  I don't call that free :/   After that, for recovering disk data, I don't understand why it's not automated. They should just ask for an FTP link on their form, and voilà, they can upload the data there.  That doesn’t require 150 hours of coding, and it would save everyone.   I started to switch my site back to Free, with my backup from June.  I hope to recover a dump of my site from e3b, though I don't have high hopes.  Because as they say quite rightly, they owe us nothing.   This will teach me not to have daily automatic backups.

I found https://sedo.com/search/details/?partnerid=324561&language=fr&domain=cfree.eu&origin=sales_lander_1&utm_medium=Parking&utm_campaign=offerpage, they seem pretty good. I had 500 MB there, but on the Vista panel, I opened a ticket because I had an issue with a script. They helped me, and on top of that, they removed the ads, upgraded me to 800 MB, doubled my bandwidth, and added a couple of other things, but I can't remember them right now.

Anyway, it's pure happiness, everything runs well, and I no longer fear having the same problem as on e3b.

What to think of the current message (10/25/09) when I try to access a site hosted by e3b, or on e3b.org: "When you use a suitable ISP, you may have the right to visit our site." What is a correct ISP? I use the only ISP available to me! For many months, I used the services offered by e3b (Thanks to them) but it will certainly be necessary for me to migrate. That's a shame.

It's really unworthy of a host. It's not up to you to find another ISP; in France, they are all decent.

Now, given this message, I migrated immediately; I tried http://cfree.eu, and I'm happy, especially since the ad at the bottom of the page doesn't bother me as it allowed me to find my new GSM operator, and I'm actually benefiting from the change.

Even if e3b came back, considering the work I had to do to migrate, I would stay on cfree.eu, clear and simple.

Besides that, we can see that they don't just have friends!  So far they have done a great job - for free (do I need to remind you?), so I will wait a bit to see if their adventure (and my hosting at the same time!) continues. What is totally incorrect are the racist images and videos that appear when you type the URL of a site hosted by e3b "site.e3b.org". Hoping that it is a hacking incident that has escaped the administrators, inciting racial hatred is a crime in many countries. I hoped until recent days for a return to normal, but I totally disapprove of these messages that remind us of the dark hours of history. The free service offered until now and the desire to share seem to me to be in total contradiction with the xenophobic messages that can currently be read, and it shocks me that my (educational) site could be associated with such remarks.

Is there anyone who has an address to contact e3b? Since today, dishonesty has increased by a notch. On my site "delphys.e3b.org", these unscrupulous people have added the following message: "This message is the opinion of delphys and does not reflect the opinion of our host e3b.org in any way." It is obvious that I can no longer access the site via FTP to reset the site. I find this method unacceptable. I unequivocally denounce this low-level racism that characterizes the messages from e3b. you put your site online and by magic it disappears for no reason and without any message explaining why except this

famous message (Oops) that happened to me twice, I recommend looking for another host!!

A bit easy as an answer.
The redirect service has only just started working again (2 to 3 hours ago). I, of course, attempted a redirect as soon as these racist messages appeared; until then, I still had hope in e3b, but I cannot support being associated with these ideas.
As for talking about jokes when looking at the content uploaded, the term is rather mild. This is called incitement to racial hatred. The videos and photos leave no doubt; there is not the slightest trace of humor.
We are not talking about questionable jokes among friends but about posts on the internet, accessible to everyone, using the URL of sites created by people who are mostly (I hope) opposed to these ideas.
This is unacceptable.
