Speaker/jack adapter?

Hey Dude, the setup you want to make is ridiculous:
- the basic 2.1 that you plug into your PC already has a built-in amplifier.
- therefore, you can only connect the jack plug of the 2.1 to a line output (not amplified) of your amplifier. In this case, the amplifier you add is useless since it outputs the same signal it receives...
- if you connect the input of your 2.1 to the speaker outputs of the amplifier, you're going to blow something up, one way or another.

On your amplifier, you can only connect passive speakers (without an amplifier) to the speaker output terminals.

For the 2 wires: you should have a stereo jack: 1 left signal - 1 right signal - a common ground.
If you strip the wires, you'll have 1 left signal + ground and 1 right signal + ground, so 4 wires in total.

I did this manipulation, and apparently, it works.

So what I did,
- I cut the male Jack plug of my small speakers that were about to be thrown away.

- I separated the three wires that make up the Jack plug (one wire with a white sheath, one wire with a pink sheath, and the other without sheath. I deduced that the wire without sheath was the ground, and that the others are simply the wires connected to the left and right speakers. I didn't bother figuring out which is which, and personally, I don’t care.

So I wanted to be able to connect Hi-Fi speakers with the two small red and black wires (one for each speaker) to a Jack plug and be able to use them on a device equipped with Jack.

- I took the two grounds of the speakers (the two black wires) that I connected together to assemble a single ground.

- I connected the combined wires to the ground of my Jack plug (the wire without sheath).

- Then, I connected the red wire of my speaker to the "Pink" connector of my Jack plug.

- Finally, I took the remaining wire and connected it to the remaining connector of my Jack plug.

Make sure to properly insulate the connectors so they don’t touch each other.
To avoid damaging my sound card (I haven't tested it on a PC), I connected my speakers equipped with my homemade Jack plug to my Freebox V6, which I use with iTunes
(On iTunes, at the bottom right, you can select the outputs. Freebox owners can select the "Freebox server" or "Freebox player" option to stream the sound from iTunes to the Freebox equipment.)

These are 2 red and black wires stuck together, and they separate at the end and are indeed stripped.
I wanted to connect the speakers to my computer but unfortunately I don't have this type of plug...

Otherwise, you can also buy a jack plug, stereo cable, and solder it yourself!

you take any pair of headphones with a jack plug, cut the headphones, and connect the wires inside... it's not more complicated ;)

however, the JACK outputs are low power. if you connect your MP3 player to big speakers, it won't work, you need to add an amplifier.

As for me, I would like to do the opposite of what you mentioned. Basically, I have a basic 2.1 system that connects to my computer via a Jack plug. I plan to buy an amplifier, and I'm wondering if I can connect my 2.1 system to it. OK, I could cut the Jack plug and strip the 2 wires that I could connect to the terminals at the back of the amplifier. However, if I can avoid cutting this Jack plug (so I can reuse it without having to re-solder!), that would be great. So is there an adapter that would allow me to make this connection without "breaking" anything? On the other hand, it seems to me that you need 4 wires (2 per speaker) to connect speakers behind the amplifier. Now, if what I want to do is possible, I only have 2 wires. Are these 4 wires strictly necessary?

no, you cut the headphones (you will have on one side the earbuds, and on the other the male jack + the wire)
or
you buy a male jack and solder some stereo wire yourself

so you end up with a male jack + some cable
you plug the jack into your PC, and you connect the wires to the speakers.
if your speakers don’t have a connector, just the wire that comes out and doesn’t detach, you put in a wire connector (electrical, not a sugar for coffee ;) )

Do your wires come out of your speakers, or can they be removed?

- The "line out" of the amplifier you mentioned, is it the headphone Jack for example? Because if so, I thought right after posting that I could just plug my 2.1 into that! No, the line out is typically found at the back, usually labeled as line out when present. The headphone output is amplified to a lesser extent and it can work like that by setting the headphone output volume to minimum (between inaudible and distorted) but it's not really designed for that, the adjustment is very approximate... too high a headphone output volume could damage the input of your 2.1 amplifier

If your amplifier is only used to select sources to output to your 2.1, you would be better off using an audio source selector: https://www.conrad.fr/

What type of speakers does it concern? Home theater speakers, PC speakers, or Hi-Fi system speakers?

These are the sockets you see on home theater systems, you have to pull a clip and slide a stripped wire into the hole

No, they release speakers but they can't take them off...

That's what I thought because my brother tried to connect his home theater to his laptop but he fried the sound card...
