optical cable to 3.5mm jack

Hello,
I was given a Bose Companion 3 and I have an LG LCD television that does not have a headphone output.
I would like to know how and if I can find an optical cable to 3.5mm jack adapter so that I can connect it to my Bose, and thus listen to my television through it?

Hello

if I understood correctly, your TV has an optical output
which means optical means digital.
To my knowledge, your speaker kit does not have a digital optical input.

Therefore, the only way to connect the two would be to use a digital audio decoder.
To my knowledge, only some high-end home amplifiers do this, in the end, I think it's not worth it.

By the way, does your television have RCA output (a red plug and a white plug)?

No, my television does not have an RCA output
Just an optical output, and it annoys me.
I know that there are devices that allow you to convert digital to jack but they cost more than 60 euros, and then you have to add 10 euros for the optical cable, 3 euros for the RCA/jack adapter...
Finally, what a lot of costs.
I found an optical cable on one side and a 3.5 jack on the other but I don't think it works, for it to work you need an optical reading capacity on the jack port and I don’t have that on the HC.

Your television has a SCART socket from which you can retrieve audio outputs with this kind of adapter:

Hello,
a "little" clarification needs to be added regarding the RCA formula on SCART; the sockets have a MANUAL RCA connection switch and if you’re switching between a video player and the TV, you need to move the switch.
There were once sockets where the inversion was "AUTO" (all it takes is a relay controlled by "the +12v from pin 8 of the SCART; for those who want or can do it, you just need a mini-relay: 2 working contacts and 2 resting contacts; inactive VCR = no power and the TV outputs, active VCR = +12v and the relay switches) this should be possible with an electronic relay but an old test with an IC on something else allowed for slight coupling.
If you find these sockets, I would be interested.

On "classic" TVs, there would be this relay at the SCART command to choose the input signal instead of the one from the TV chassis before sending it to the audio and video amplifiers (but that's another story...)

On my Thomson WHP 370 wireless headphones, the Peritel solution works because the headphones amplify the signal! However, I haven't tried it with wired headphones!
