The sound from my turntable only comes out of one side

Hello,
I have an old Dual (1225) vinyl turntable that I connected to my recent hi-fi amplifier, which has a phono input. The sound is good despite some hiss, but the sound only comes out of one speaker! The old wiring (DIN, I think) of this turntable was replaced with RCA by a friend. The soldering is fine... I also have a grounding connection behind the amplifier, but nothing coming from the turntable...
Thank you in advance if anyone can help me solve this problem!

    Several solutions...

    Either you have improperly adjusted the balance (if this option is available on your equipment)
    or the cable used is defective.
    or one of your audio inputs and/or outputs on your amplifier is defective.
    or one of your speakers is defective.
    or the change from DIN output to RCA was done incorrectly..
    or one of the outputs at the level of the circuit board of your turntable is not producing any sound (or malfunction in the turntable).
    or your cartridge is improperly connected or defective.

    Each time you must reconnect to the original setup to make a reliable diagnosis.

    To find out if your speakers work.
    You connect the speaker that is not working to the amplifier output of the one that works, it should sound.

    To find out if your amplifier input and/or output works.
    You take the cable coming from the turntable from the working side, and you connect it to the side that is not working; the speaker that was not working should sound.

    To find out if the cable is defective.
    You take the line of your non-working cable and reverse the connections on both ends.

    To find out if the RCA outputs of your turntable work.
    You take the RCA output from your turntable that emits sound and connect it to the other RCA input.
    If the speaker that sounded starts to sound again after reversing the RCA outputs of your turntable, you will know that your 2 RCA outputs work and thus, internally as well.

    If this does not work but everything else is positive...
    then your problem comes from your turntable or the modified RCA system that is not functioning properly.

      Okay thanks, it was my reading head that I think had a loose connection, I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it works perfectly!!!

    there is in the message frame, at the top right, a tab that says "resolved"...
    there you check yes... and you click ok....

    that's all...;-)
