Hello,
I have a Samsung LCD television, a Canal+ and Canalsat decoder via satellite, and I just bought a Samsung SH 893 hard disk DVD player. I connected everything as per the manual. But I can't manage to set up the channels received by the satellite. What should I do? And can I record one channel from the satellite and watch another channel at the same time? Thank you for your response as I’ve been struggling since yesterday and I haven’t been able to achieve anything.

Hello, before purchasing the recorder, I assume that canalsat was working, so you connect your terminal to the SCART input of the recorder, and to record a canalsat channel, you need to select the correct input (AV1, AV2...), turn on the terminal to the correct channel, and record! Of course, do not change the canalsat channel during the recording! However, you can watch another source such as TNT...

Thank you, but it's not working. With this connection, my DVD player is not responding.
With the connection from the manual:
TV to AV1 DVD
AV2 DVD to decoder
Antenna socket to satellite decoder
Antenna socket to the aerial RF on DVD, RF output from DVD to TV, I can record, but during the scan, I can't find the channels. That's it. Help. Thank you in advance. -
Hello, the recorder cannot scan the CanalSat channels! It can only find the analog and TNT channels! Set your recorder to AV2 if your terminal is connected to that input and turn on the terminal! For CanalSat (and all satellite channels), there is no other solution! Your recorder does not have a built-in satellite tuner!

Thank you. Actually, I was looking for something to do that was impossible. Now I have another problem; I can't schedule a recording if my DVD player is on. Is that normal? The recording only starts if the DVD is turned off. ...

On Samsung devices, yes it's normal, it's indicated somewhere in the manual...

Thank you for your patience. But I read and reread the instructions for the connections and channel scanning so much that for the recording I did it intuitively. Bye.
