Samsung Galaxy, USB Transfers Solved

Hello @everyone

So I've just acquired a Samsung Galaxy and I need help...

I installed NewPCStudio, then I connected with the USB cable between the phone and my computer. When I open NPCS my phone is recognized, then I try to transfer files (photos or music) from the computer to the phone or photos from the phone to the computer and I get an error message: your device is not supported

I tried to go to update but nothing happens

I should mention that I haven't bought a memory card yet (but logically I can put some photos from my computer onto the Galaxy without using up the internal memory, right?)

I have of course activated the USB device by selecting "mount" in the drop-down menu of the Galaxy

I have no way to check if transfers work via Bluetooth =/

ps: I also couldn't find the accents on the touch keyboard, where are they??? Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.14

Okay, I understand your concern, lol

When you plug in your USB cable, an icon appears at the top of the phone, you press and hold it, then slide your finger down to the bottom of the screen to pull down a "window" (like a touchscreen, so I hope I'm making myself clear), and at that moment you select "mount the device"!

So when you’re in New PC Studio, you move your files to the internal memory of your phone or the micro SD (F or H apparently), and when you’re done, you do the same thing to select "turn off the device"! Then you will be able to access the files you put on your phone and unplug the USB cable.

Let me know if it's not clear, but it should be okay ;)

Finally, I want to address those who will read this: I am very disappointed with the battery life (not even a day if we use Wi-Fi and take 2-3 photos =$), and the finish (a slippery plastic that shows fingerprints nicely) ^^

I have exactly the same problem except that I already have a micro SD.
For accents, just in case, you hold down the concerned letter, a window will appear and you choose^^.

So when you arrive at new pc studio, on your right under device search, my phone was detected and I was dragging files into it...

Actually, I did a device search and then Android (drive G) and Android 1 (drive H) appeared, just below my phone; and it's in those icons representing the internal memory of the phone as well as its micro SD card that you need to drag your music or movies...

So that was my problem lol; and when you right-click open, all your files appear and you can, for example, remove them.

Anyway, thanks for the accents I still hadn't found ;p

Thank you for your response, but your method is not working for me either.
However, I asked Samsung for help, and they haven't been able to do anything so far.

On the desktop of New Pc Studio, I have "My Computer" in the top left, then in the top right, "Search," which shows Mass Storage (F:), below that, Mass Storage (H:), and below, the phone.
When I click on both Mass Storage options, it asks me to insert a disk into the drive, and when I click on the phone, a window titled "Device Explorer" appears, telling me "the device is not supported."
They also mentioned "Launch the notification bar and click the 'mount' button"; I don't understand how to launch the notification bar and where the "mount" button is located.
I should note that on My Computer on my PC, and on New Pc Studio, I cannot find the phone... but I can see it on the New Pc desktop.

Ok, thank you very much.
It was indeed very simple.
It works for the Mass storage.
My phone, however, is still detected by NewPcS's workstation but is not recognized as a device... grrrr!
I don't think that's normal.
That being said, I can now transfer my photos etc.... and that's already great!
Well... it's the least you can expect from a device of this type.
If a solution exists, I am definitely interested, of course.

As for battery life, I have read several times that the update was supposed to fix this issue.
But that other problems could arise.

I can't tell you better than Jocisco's solution. You pull down the top panel of the phone and you go up.  Does anyone know where I can find a GPS that talks, with real-time map representation, etc...? Thank you.

Hello, Thank you very much for the info about "monting," I was pulling my hair out over that! As for the talking GPS, I believe CoPilot Live does that, but it’s paid... Regarding the battery life, I am also very disappointed, as I think many people are.

I also bought a Galaxy last week, and for accents, you need to hold down the "E," for example; during typing, it will then suggest all the accents.

I see that everyone has issues!  For New PC Studio, it's hard to use: To make the phone icon appear (and not the memory card), you need to go to: about phone --> additional settings --> mass storage, and uncheck it. Normally, your icon (phone) should appear. (This is done on your mobile)    For the updates, there aren't any yet! Know that KIES does not support (for the moment) the Samsung Galaxy Spica. Only 3 as of today! And a week ago, there were only 2, now there are 3, so it's progressing quite fast!! Patience  TIP: If you want to put things on your memory card, open it in Computer (My Computer) --> removable disk F:. Put the images outside of folders. If you place them in a folder, when you look at your images, they will not appear.  As for the theme:  Download the application: PandaHome And the themes that supposedly do not work (I've seen that in the comments) do work. But only if you download PandaHome! There is an app, like many, called Butterfly that doesn't work; I tried it, then I downloaded PandaHome and it worked!! And it's the same for many themes.  No radio on this phone, but an application is available for free, of course, with all kinds of radio from around the world.

For your information, it works very well without installing that machine studio.. You connect the phone via USB and the computer recognizes it as a USB key, you just need to copy and paste the data you want and the phone's applications find them all by themselves (gallery or music, for example). Personally, I've created folders at the root (music, ringtones, and photos in this case) but the phone doesn't care, it's just for easier organization later on.  As for criticisms, what's really annoying is Orange, who forces you to lose the warranty (by modifying the ROM) to use the phone normally and not pay eleven euros more per month to exchange emails via a useless protocol.. And I won't even mention Gtalk..  Other than that, I have a problem with the "call" button, which doesn't react quite normally after only two weeks of use. I believe I read somewhere that this is common, can you confirm? Has anyone already contacted customer service about this? With what result?

To transfer data, it's simple. Open your Samsung New PC Studio software, connect your phone (Samsung Galaxy Spica), and on your phone, open the notification task (at the top). Then switch your phone to connection mode and there you go, that's the solution, it works for me.

For the accents, it all depends on the phone's configuration. I recommend asking at the store where you bought it; there’s surely a salesperson who knows about it. For transferring your files, whether from your computer to your phone or vice versa, try using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth; I have the same issue. Otherwise, you can call 614 for assistance from Bouygues; they have people who are knowledgeable. Good luck!

In fact, you open the lid of your laptop and take your SD card, then you put it into a USB key (it's a key specifically made for micro SDs) and plug it into your computer. Then the computer will recognize your laptop and you can do whatever you want with it. So that's how I do it, anyway. And for your information, normally for accents, you press and hold the letter and all the accents will appear.
