c bon, problème règlé...
faut déconnecter son Norton Internet Security le temps de telecharger qqch. sur un FTP! Sans oublier de le rebrancher après pour éviter les méchants virus!!!
Well folks I finally got to the bottom of this problem this weekend. On saturday I reinstalled SP2 - lo and behold the problem with ftp was back, so it wasn't down to any Windoze updates installed after SP2.
So I tuned off Windoze Firewall and ran with Zone Alarm: still no ftp.
So I turned off Zone Alarm too: still no ftp.
Then I opened the security center which seemed to think my firewall was turned on. I checked the Windoze firewall; nope that said it was off. Checked Zone Alarm; nope that was off too.
It was only then that I noticed that the Security Center said that the Norton Worm Blocker was running. I turned that off and the security center then reported no firewalls running.
I enabled Zone Alarm again, dialed out and ftp now worked! So the issue all along was that the Windoze firewall and / or Zone Alarm were conflicting with the Norton worm blocker. I'm not overly happy with having the worm blocker disabled as I know it's stopped worms in the past, I only hope Zone Alarm is as effective in this area as it seems to be stopping other intrusions.
So I now have SP2 installed and a working firewall and ftp working. Am I a hppy bunny or am I a happy bunny!
