Hello,
I just installed Windows Seven on my laptop (an HP Pavilion dv9000) and I can't reinstall Quick Launch Button because it is not compatible with Windows Seven.
I would like to know if there is a version compatible with Windows Seven and if so, where can I download it?

Thank you
Configuration: Windows Seven Professional Firefox 3.5.3

Hello and thank you
But does your information indeed concern the HP Quick Button program that allows the
touch-sensitive buttons above the laptop keyboard to function?
Thank you very much

No, sorry, it's about the method to add the quick launch bar which is no longer on Win7 by default.

Hi,
Try this latest version of the Quick Launch Button, from what I've read it's compatible with Se7en:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45058.exe
Technical information here:
http://whp-aus2.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45058.html

I only have one problem with this, I have a dv61210sf, and despite installing the version above my "mute" button works but does not change color (still orange), if someone passing by here has a solution...

Sometimes the buttons act up because of the battery. I don't know the technical details, but if you turn off your computer, remove the battery, press the power button for 30 seconds (to discharge any residual energy stored in the capacitors, etc., I suppose), and then turn your computer back on, it may work again.

Incredible, but the solution from Unknown (removing the battery and discharging the capacitors by pressing the power button) fixed my quick launch button problem (the ones you touch for sound and wifi on my Pavilion DV6) that weren't working at all despite multiple driver and program updates...

Well done!

I don't know if your post is still relevant, but for the quick launch... right-click on the taskbar, toolbars, new toolbar, and follow this path E:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch (copy and paste it and adapt the path to your computer, otherwise it will be impossible to find it...
keep me updated.

Hello,
Thank you for the information regarding the HP program version to switch to Windows 7.
Unfortunately, I think this version is not suitable for my Pavilion Dv 9751ef.
I don't see the Dv series 7 reference in the listing.
Anyway, thank you for the information.
Best regards.

Pankkyph, I have the same problem as you on my DV7 2060ef; since the W7 upgrade, my mute button remains orange!!

I have the same issue on an HP Pavilion dv6000. Installing this driver doesn't change anything. What's curious is that the keys to increase and decrease the volume work, but not the mute key. It seems (from other posts) that the key for muting the sound reacts strangely: it stays orange even though the sound is on...
It looks like a return to Vista.

I found the solution to my problem by updating my keyboard driver (solution found on an English-speaking site).

Have you found a solution???

I have the same problem and I'm fed up with listening to music and watching movies on my PC

Thanks

Are you sure you have the same problem? The Quick Launch buttons are in no way essential for the operation of the computer. If your sound isn't working at all, that's not the same issue and you should create a new topic in that case.

Hello,
I am in the same situation as you, upgrading to Win 7 and getting the incompatibility message "HP Quick Launch Buttons" at every startup (which is annoying), except that I, not wanting to tease you... all the buttons work! Ah, the magic of Windows... there must be hope for you!

For those who still have the mute button that does not switch from blue to orange (or red)
just reinstall your audio driver with an updated version.
The latest 'Realtek High Definition Audio Driver' is available here: https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=23&v_code=29515
otherwise perform a driver detection here: https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=29 (note that you will need to install the "ma-config.com" plugin)
