ONE TOUCH VIDEO GRABBER DOES NOT WORK

Hello,
I just tried the TECHGEAR ONE TOUCH VIDEO GRABBER (which, by the way, has a website that's utterly useless) and it doesn't work, of course. I installed the driver and the EZ GRABBER software without issues, I see the device in the peripherals without any problem, I connected it to my VCR via SCART and .... I either get a black screen or, in SECAM, some lines. No error message, no genuinely helpful manual, and nothing on their website. Has anyone successfully used this thing? Can someone tell me how they did it (maybe adding something on the PC side? I'm using it with a COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ61 VISTA BASIC laptop. I tried it on my desktop PC but it doesn’t work on XP...
Thanks in advance for any help or support
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 8.0

Hello
I don't know if you found a solution to your problem, but I have a problem with a black screen; I have sound but no image
I tested it under XP, but I was missing drivers, then under Seven, but it was not compatible, and finally under Vista Home, but here I am still having problems, so to anyone who would be kind enough to help us, thank you...

mine works perfectly... under Vista though, and the SECAM output is great in color with sound, but I don't know what the button on the case is for, given that the software understands all the available parameters...
who knows what this button is for?

thank you, Gil

The button is used to start a capture and to stop in order to eliminate unwanted images
however, I don't have any sound, can someone help me?

Hello

For the sound, if everything is connected properly, check the video output: SECAM, PAL, NTSC, etc. until you find the right output. It should work fine...

Hello, I had the same problem with a black or striped screen. It was due to the SCART socket that was not an output (the one connected to the VCR on video out). There are SCART sockets that are output, input, or both (with a switch). I installed an "out" SCART socket and the images appeared! Bye!
