Hi everyone, I really need your help please, here’s my problem: I was just lent a TI-89 for my upcoming exams and I’d like to know how to transfer my programs from my old calculator (which is a TI-83) to the TI-89. I was given a cable but I can’t manage to do it, is it possible or not? If it’s possible, how should I proceed? Thanks in advance and have a great day everyone.

      Hello lenight,
you need to have a cable that connects the two TI together (it's small). Then you go to 'link' on your calto and you select what you want then you press the right arrow and now attention! you must perform two different actions on the two TIs: on the one where you selected the items to send, you do "transmit" and on the other, you go to 'link' and you do "receive"...
there you go, wait a bit and it's OK
      see you

Hello, when you say we should wait a bit, how long is that on average?

Oh it depends on the size of what you’re transferring. If it’s a small program it takes 2 seconds but if it’s an application it can take 30 seconds... well it’s not very, very long anyway...

Please provide the text you want translated or specify the target language.

Since the two possessors are not the same I strongly doubt that the .83p files are compatible with the .89p files, anyway you can always keep both calculators and switch when you need the other!

That probably won’t work, sorry. In the user manual for my TI-89, it says it’s only partially compatible with the TI-92 and the Voyage 200…
If you know how to program, maybe there’s a way you could rewrite your programs in the TI-89 language because it isn’t exactly the same as the TI-83’s…

It should be possible, thanks to Ti-Edit 0.3.1, to copy and paste texts and programs to be saved on your TI with a transfer software (TI connect?). However, TI Connect cannot send the files that Ti-Edit saves :(

Totally impossible to transfer them directly. Yes, you have to retype them, or you keep your TI-83 ^^

You must have a TI-TI cable that connects the calculators together normally (it is provided when you buy it).

Hello, so, with the Study Card software I’m trying to add stuff for my TI-83+ but I don’t have the program on the calculator. I have it on the computer but not on the calculator. Could you tell me how to add it so I can read my cards on my TI? Thanks in advance

P.S. please respond as soon as possible!

Hello, could someone help me? I have an issue with my TI-83 Plus; I can't open a folder with formulas that I transferred from Word to my calculator. When I go to "link" I can see my folder but it's impossible to open it. Do I need to use another button to open the folder? This is driving me crazy, I have a test tomorrow and without my formulas I’m sure I’ll screw up!!!

Could someone describe the steps to follow, please?!

    Hello,

I’m writing to you today because it has been a week and a half that I’m searching without success.

Here’s the problem: a while ago I bought a TI-83+. I have TI Connect the software as well as the silver/transparent gray cable. I can send files from TI Connect group.

My problem is the following: it’s impossible to send BASIC files and TEXT format to this calculator. In addition, the .83g format is not accepted either.

Whenever I try to transfer it, the software tells me:

    TYPE INCOMPATIBLE

and then, there is no way to send that file to the calculator.

What should I do to be able to send these kinds of formats to my calculator.

Please help me (if you can) I don’t know what to do anymore.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Hello, I would like to know how to transfer data from my Graph 25 to another Graph 25. I know you have to go to "link" and then I'm lost! I don't know how to select my data. I think you probably need to set "on" in "image set," but then what?
