Connect a CD player to a PC

Hello,

I would like to be able to listen to audio CDs using a CD player (you’re going to tell me I’m an idiot because I could just use the PC’s CD drive, but the problem is that the CD drive on my Dell laptop is way too loud!).

So I’d like to be able to connect a CD player to my PC, which would then handle sending the sound via USB to my E-MU sound card, which in turn would drive my powered speakers.

Or is it possible to connect my CD player directly to the sound card?

    A small problem, the CD player is connected to the sound card, the LED blinks in time with the music, no problem, the sound comes through.

    But the speakers stay silent :/

    you just need to plug the CD player into the line input of the sound card.
