Hello everyone,
I would like to be able to boot directly into DOS. In fact, I have a PC running Win98 and I work with accounting software under MS-DOS. Currently, I have to start my PC and when I get to DOS, I have to choose "shut down and restart in DOS." How can I set up my PC to boot directly into DOS, and if I want to, I can type "win" at the command prompt to start Windows?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

    Hello,

When starting the PC, hold down the Ctrl key and select option 5 (DOS Prompt Only).

Hello, I have a problem starting Win XP. I wasn't able to install it normally, and I would like to know if I can boot into DOS to reformat my hard drive?

      Hello,

You are "reopening" a topic from 2005 concerning Windows 98, a product that includes Microsoft DOS 6.x, whereas XP does not. I suggest you create a new thread, knowing that to format, you need to have either the original XP disc (the best solution) or partitioning software. However, there are other points to consider, particularly the recovery of drivers.

      Best regards
