Satsuki is the name that Ren chooses for Hachi's daughter. It's a flower name like Ren. It's impossible for Ren J to be the son of Nana Osaki because we know for sure that Ren is Takumi's son. Takumi and Hachi are not divorced even though they talk about divorce; it's impossible because when we see the flash forward in the anime, she is still with Takumi, and she has her two rings (engagement and wedding).

You scare me, Nana485; fortunately, the condom is a means of contraception, maybe not the most reliable, but it is one, in addition to being the only method of contraception that protects against STIs in general ;) (not just AIDS).

Technically, it's practically impossible for Ren to be Nobu's son.

What I'm pointing out is that:

- Hachi calls the baby Sachiko, and Takumi asks her, "How do you know it's a girl?" She replies that she just feels it, but in reality, we never know the sex of the first child Hachi is expecting.
I think the first is Ren J, and he is born shortly after Ren's death, which explains the choice of the name Ren for the little one (noting that Taku and Hachi never considered a boy's name for the baby, since they were expecting a little "Sachiko").
This also explains why the little girl is called Satsuki and not Sachiko; why would Taku and Nana have decided to change their favorite name at the last minute if the first child was indeed a little girl?

- For me, Satsuki is Hachi and Takumi's second child, and who knows, Nana has always hated the Hachi/Taku relationship; maybe seeing them together caring for Ren and having a second child pushed her even further away and made her feel even more alone.
If Nana disappears during Hachi's second pregnancy, she might think that "Sachiko" is a name that brings bad luck and change it to Satsuki, which is similar in kanji but it's no longer "Sachiko."

Finally, I'm actually making a lot of assumptions here lol.

You are not logical at all!!!!! Damn XD! I'm fed up with this nonsense reasoning XD! Just because you hope too much that your fantasies become reality XD...(I may sound frustrated, but not at all XD)

1. Ren CANNOT be Shin & Reira's child!!!! When we see the future, Ren is older than Satsuki. So Reira should have been pregnant before Hachi. (Same goes for those (bunch of bananas) who think that Nana & Ren had a child... That's completely stupid reasoning).

2. Why couldn't Ren be Takumi's child? They resemble each other. And then, everyone only thinks about the resemblance to the father... Honestly, I think he looks a lot like Hachi. They have the same hair color, the same gentle smile. Notice the eyes: volume 19, page 28. I think we're putting too much emphasis on: Ohh!! In the end, it's Nobu's son!!!. Wouldn't that be a bit boring? Personally, I think I'm the only one who doesn't like the Nobu/Hachi couple. First of all, it's a super cheesy relationship. Even if Takumi isn't faithful, I believe he truly loves Hachi. But (if you've read the bonuses), he really had a hard life so he's a bit weird XD...Anyway. Although he drives me crazy, I support this couple. At least it's got some character!...even if sometimes...we doubt XD damn, he's annoying Takumi!

3. Satsuki is the spitting image of her father. No discussion possible on that XD!

4. I think that if Hachi had had twins, she would have hurried to tell everyone. And wouldn't only talk to Satsuki while she was still in her belly...come on.. XD!

5. I think it's more complicated than that. Takumi loves Reira very much (and platonically). She gets sick after Ren's death. I think that if Takumi had let her manage on her own, things would have gone badly. By the way, he stays at the hospital long enough in the last chapter. She helped him survive when he was young, he helps her in return. This could explain his reasons for moving to England. He stays with Reira.

But anyway, Yuri is quite jealous, Nobu won't take it, especially if she insults Hatchi, it's a shame because they are so cute together ^^
And then Hatchi and Takumi are going to start a divorce process in the future. Oh man -- It's just like Vampire Knight, it doesn't end the way I want at all.

Hi lily-powaa,

According to the editor-in-chief of Cookie magazine (which publishes Ai Yazawa's mangas), it's due to overwork and the treatment she has to undergo is quite painful, which is why she had to cancel her appearance at Japan Expo.
Some rumors say that chapter 85 will only be released in September, but I hope that's not the case; that would be too long :p
As for Satsuki, I think it's definitely Takumi and Hachi's first child, but it's very difficult to say more about Ren J. He kind of resembles Shin, I think, but so far it's not easy to determine who his parents are exactly.

I think that Ren J is the first child of Nana and Nobu, then comes the second child, Satsuki, who is Nana and Takumi's. And remember what Nobu said to Hachi: "When the child is born, I will teach him to play guitar." But they didn't specify the baby's gender, and Ren J plays guitar, the same style as Ren, because Reira sings over it.
Anyway, I have plenty of clues that tell me Ren J is Nobu's child and is older than Satsuki.

Yes and no, Satsuki is indeed the daughter of Nana and Takumi because when you go into the future (in the book), you see all three of them: Satsuki (who is brunette and has Nana K.'s face). Anyway, it's certain that she is Takumi's daughter because if you have perfectly followed the anime, when Nobu learns that Nana K. is pregnant, he tells Nana that he protected himself, while she did it many times with Takumi, and we don't know if he protected himself. But regarding Ren J, I don't think at all that he is Reira and Takumi's child, or Reira and Chin's, or Nana K. and Nobu's, and even less Satsuki's older brother but her little brother because Nana K. says that the baby in her belly is a girl and that her doctor confirmed it. Hi, I have another hypothesis for Ren J. I would say that he is the child of Reira and Takumi, since he lives with his father and Satsuki lives with Hachi, and for Reira, who is unable to raise him, she leaves him in the care of Hachiko and Takumi at the time. Well, I think a sex education is in order because Mélodie35 hasn't quite understood the role of the condom.
The condom is not a GOOD method of contraception because it only takes one sperm to escape and bam, fertilization. Yes, it's true that some use it to avoid having children, but it mainly serves to protect against AIDS!

Well yes, but it's impossible for him to be Nobu's child, since in volume 20 we see him talking with Takumi and Naoki (that's where Naoki hints that he has a child). And then there's Ren J shutting down Takumi (I love that moment xD) and Naoki saying something like "It's obvious he's your son." And when we compare Ren J and Takumi when he was a kid, they look alike, and he doesn't resemble Nobu at all. But I'm sure Nana divorced Takumi and got together with Nobu, or is going to get together with Nobu. They're just made for each other xD Satsuki for sure, given her hair color.
But it's true that the more I think about it, the more I wonder if Ren J isn't Nana Ôsaki's kid... Because in volume 20 the author insists on the fact that she forgot to take the pill.... (I just reread it just now ^^)
And they're around the same age, Ren J and Satsuki, right?

Melodie35, look in a chapter in the future (I don't remember which one) where Hachi, Nobu, Shin, Yasu, and Satsuki are getting ready to go see the fireworks, and well, when Hachi runs a bath for Nobu, he takes her hand and we see his engagement ring and wedding band ( --> so she is still married to Takumi)
or in the chapter where Hachiko goes to Jun's right after the "revelation" from Satsuki (who wants to give chocolates to Shin!) Jun says: "So, what are you going to do?" Hachi: "I'm going to wait for the end of the vacation to go to the bar Naoki told me about." Jun: "No, for your divorce..." (well, something like that ;D)

I reread all your hypotheses ^^ It's crazy how we can write the story ourselves xD Well, I'm going to share mine now :p
So, first of all, about Ren.J: It is impossible, I say impossible that the mother is Reira, because Satsuki considers him to be her big brother, and it's true that he looks older than her, and Hatchi was pregnant before Reira (if she was ever pregnant. By the way, she never slept with Takumi, just kisses), so the chances are almost null. And he cannot be Nobu's son anyway, since he doesn't look like him at all, he has more of a resemblance to Takumi, (especially in his character xD well that's just my personal point of view). So he must be Takumi and Hatchi's first son for sure (Damn, I know, I would have preferred Nobu too >.< Hatchi and him go together too well)
And since Hatchi and Takumi are getting divorced, they are already each on their own, and apparently it's their turn for the custody of Ren.J.
And Satsuki (that's the name Ren chose for Nana's future daughter, but in my opinion she hadn't planned on having a little boy, so she paid homage to Ren by naming him Ren =D!) Satsuki, I was saying, must have been born later, I suppose. And going back to Nobu, I think more that Hatchi designated him as Ren.J's godfather, to comfort him a bit that he is not his son, or simply because deep down she still loves him and wants to keep him close... Aaah xD I'm getting a bit carried away here! But well ;)
But I'm also worried about Nana, what Yuri told her... I hope Nobu will leave her because a jealous girl like that is a pain in the butt T.T How she demoralizes Nana! And so here's how I see the end: Shin will get back with Reira (even if Satsuki will be jealous xD), Nobu with Hatchi, Nana will come back, Yazu will stay with Miu, Takumi with his job (...T.T), Naoki with Mari-Chan and his child =D...

Here’s what I think:
Ren J is Nana's first child, made with Takumi, and Satsuki is the second, since at one point in the manga she calls him "Big Brother" in Japanese.
But the problem is that Nana and Takumi are going to separate, and it's Ren J who went to Takumi's side, and Satsuki who stayed with Nana.
And it seems that Naoki has a child too =D I wonder with whom ^^

PS: But Nana didn't have a child with Nobu; the author insists on this subject: Besides, Ren J has the same face as Takumi when he was little and Satsuki has black hair, and Nobu always used a condom. ^^

It is obvious to me that Satsuki is the daughter of Nana and Takumi; unfortunately (we would all have wanted Nobu to be the father, but well... that won't stop them from reuniting).
Ren is the son of Reira and Takumi, since Satsuki refers to him as her brother and says he stays with his dad Takumi. He resembles Shin, though, but if we take a mix of Takumi as a child with Reira's hair color... Otherwise, Reira is hospitalized in the latest; she is having malaise due to her pregnancy in addition to not eating well because of Ren's death. She was very close to Ren, so it makes sense that she names her child in his honor.

Hello everyone, I must say I've discovered your little hypotheses that are very interesting. So here is mine.
Satsuki is definitely Hachi's child. Her name changed because Ren asked her to give her child a name of a flower (azalea or the 5th lunar month), but it should be noted that Ren is also a name of a flower, so the hypothesis that Ren J could be Hachi's son is still possible.
On the other hand, I find that Ren J seems much more mature than little Satsuki, who is barely six years old. If Ren J was really Reira's son, it wouldn't add up, since Hachi was pregnant with the child even before one could imagine that Reira was pregnant.
Another thing now. Yes, Hachi and Takumi talk about divorce. But in another volume, Hachi talks to Nana (in the future) telling her that she may not have always been faithful to her husband, but the ring they both wear will always connect them. However, you overlook another detail, which is that Hachi's hair color IS light ^^ so it's not so impossible to think that this is Hachi's child.

Hi, I reread and read all your messages and I really think that Nobu could be the father of the little girl, because in the flashbacks, Nobu is shown younger with black hair but dyes it. As for Ren, I really don't think Reira is the mother. Why would Nana want to take back a son that isn't hers? But I hope that the Takumi-Nana couple doesn't get divorced. I think they make a beautiful couple. I also think that new characters will be introduced for Naoki. Does anyone know the release date of the next chapter, please?

and I think you're wrong when you say that reira and takumi didn't sleep together because I think they already did so... but the hypothesis of reira and takumi is to be ruled out (in my opinion it's impossible)

For me, Ren J is the child of Ren and Nana Osaki because I believe that just before her death, they had him when she hadn't taken the pill, and he looks very much like Ren and is very close to Reira like Ren was. I don't think Nana Osaki had a child with Ren; if that were the case, she wouldn't have run off leaving him with Hachi. I think Ren J and Satsuki are definitely Takumi's or Hachi's children, or both at the same time.
