Canal decoder, what to do with it?

Hello,

I have an old Canal Sat decoder (I think it's one of the first ones) and no longer have a satellite dish

I don't know what to do with it, it's been lying around for a few years :)

Do you think it can still receive Canal Sat (with a subscription?) or at least some free channels from satellites? Is it sellable?
Configuration: Windows Firefox 3.5

    HELLO
FOR YOUR DECODER, YOU NEED TO TAKE IT TO A POINT OF SALE.

    Hello
Surely you won't have many clients for that here, you should rather go to Ebay and post an ad, you might get a client

Go to the Canal website and check if your decoder is still listed; if so, you could take out a card-only subscription, that’s your only option.

why? I bought it, I don't have a deposit on it...

I wanted to know if it can still be used? Or if the video format it decoded no longer exists?

In fact, my question was mainly to know if it is still capable of receiving satellite signals (not having a dish... I can't test) or if it's too old for current video formats.

    Hello
I believe you said it all when talking about current formats, as indeed, how much longer will Canal+ broadcast in analog? I was a subscriber with them and did not stay long in analog, even via satellite. They made me a promotional offer and I switched to digital with a new decoder that was not mine, but then I received all the channels in digital quality, including Canal + the bouquet. Stable images, no pixels, pure happiness, but I left because in retirement I watch less TV and the TV budget has been tight lately!
    Cheers

Great, I saw that on the Mediasat website my decoder (digital satellite) is still up to date :) Thank you for your response.
