Connect Canal+ HD decoder via HDMI

Hello everyone and happy new year.
So here I am with several issues. First of all, I just bought a Samsung UE32EH5000 32" 1080p (Full HD) LED TV and I wanted to connect my decoder via HDMI to my TV, the picture is fine but there is no sound... user manual, re-read the manual, decoder and TV settings, nothing works on the TV speakers or my speakers.
The only audio output on the TV is optical. I bought a cable and a converter from HDMI Digital to HDMI+SPDIF/Optical+RCA(L/R) because I have another issue: I want the sound on my speakers through my old Kenwood analog system (all of this worked very well with my old TV and my SCART + RCA). At first it seemed straightforward but in the end, I’ve hit the limits of my skills and patience. I’m not even sure if I need to connect my decoder with RCA cables in addition to the HDMI or not... anyway, I need your help... Thanks in advance.

if I remember correctly (I don't have a receiver on hand), this is done in the settings of the Canal decoder: audio settings and changing the audio output setting....-
Yes, to get sound I need to leave the scart cable in addition to the HDMI. As soon as I remove it, I have no sound, neither TV speakers nor external speakers. Even when adjusting the audio settings in the Canal HD decoder. The HDMI cable transmits both image and sound, or do I need additional RCA cables?
