Hello everyone,
I'm here to explain my situation to see if there's any chance of finding the person who scammed me.
I posted an ad on leboncoin to sell my PlayStation 3.
Immediately, someone contacted me by email asking if I still had the PS3. I replied yes, and then he said he was interested and asked me to find out about the shipping costs to Belgium.
I looked into it, the costs were high but I communicated them to him anyway. He said he agreed and that he would pay me via PayPal, but I asked for a check because PayPal charged fees on it. He then said he would cover the PayPal fees.
I then received a payment confirmation email from PayPal stating that the amount had been settled but would be held until I sent the tracking number. I sent the tracking number after shipping my PS3.
Two weeks later, still nothing. I kept receiving emails from a company called Secure Europe saying my payment was overdue.
This morning, I called PayPal to ask them to release the funds. After checking the transaction number, the woman told me I had been scammed.
Immediately, I went to file a complaint at the police station.
So I want to inform you that if you receive an email from someone named MAS Henri, refuse to sell him any goods. He even sent me a forged PayPal confirmation.
His email is: prince2henri@gmail.com
I shared all this with the police station, but I’d like to know if there will be any follow-up?

I was also contacted for a camera lens, I found it very suspicious. Then I received the supposed PayPal payment with money held until I provided the tracking number. It made me laugh a lot... I logged into PayPal directly to see that there was nothing new, not even a held payment. Even though everyone communicates the scammer's false address, they will always have news. In my opinion, PayPal remains one of the safest ways to buy or sell online; you just have to follow one very simple rule: Never trust a message received or click on any of those links. Always type the PayPal address yourself in your browser and go directly to your account, whether to confirm something or check if the payment has indeed been received. It's much safer than a direct deposit where you have to give your account number.

Well, I already bought online and so far no issues, although maybe there was a problem with the merchandise that might not be what we expected.
