Hello,
I have a problem with the Sims 3 CD. My computer does not recognize it. No matter how many times I try to open the CD through my computer, it shows a blank CD.
My Windows is up to date and official.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue and found a solution?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I found the solution, anyway it works for my laptop...
First go to your hard drive (C: or D:) and navigate to: Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin
Create a shortcut of the file "TS3" and place it on your desktop.
Launch the game with your CD in your drive.
There you go! Let me know if it works for you.

Hello, I also have a problem with the recognition of The Sims 3 CD, but not at the workstation level (obviously I have a Mac!) ... It frustrates me because I don’t know what to do:
Here is my problem: the installation went well, my CD is "recognized" on my desktop, when I launch the game the welcome screen appears, I click play (if the CD is not in, it asks me to insert the CD to play) ... once the CD is in, it starts, shows the cinematic, the loading, and when it comes time to choose the town, it tells me that I don’t have a CD ... yet it is in my drive...
Please help !! I can't take it anymore. -
Hello everyone,
So I have "resolved" the problem. I don't know what the game publishers did with the CD design. But it's just crap. You open and close your DVD drive a dozen times, fifteen if you're unlucky, twenty if you're really unlucky, but eventually, it works.
Long live the 50-cent designs. You know what I mean. -
The problem comes from the fact that you need to have a single-layer DVD player...
I have the same problem. You just need to change your player and get a dual-layer one, and the problem is solved. -
Hello,
Your issue may be due to the presence of ISO image management software. Generally, the ISO image management function is available in burning software. Try playing the game by uninstalling software such as: Daemon Tools, CloneCD, Alcohol... -
I took my friend's player where the game works. The result with his player is still the same. It doesn't work. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance. -
I have the same problem, but it's not that my PC isn't powerful enough, because the game worked for 3 days, then today when I insert it, I don't hear my CD drive spinning. And all my other CDs work...

Hello... a silly question... smile, do you get an error message when you try to launch the game?
Could it be that your CD/DVD drive is no longer recognized by Windows?
Do your other CDs or DVDs work?
The reason I ask is that I recently had a similar issue... unable to read any CD and/or DVD
So if that's also your case, follow the steps described in this link: https://www.micro-astuce.com/Forum/erreur-code-vista-graveur-disparu-t2213.html
or here: http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 3825 windows damaged or missing driver code 39
Hoping it's really that (because it's really not a big deal... smile)
Good luck to you. -
I have the same problem: Sims 3 DVD not recognized by my PC (or maybe once every 100 tries...) so I uninstalled the game and tried to download it via EA Download Manager by entering the game code and it says: "code already submitted".
Could you please help me? -
Maybe your computer isn't powerful enough to the point that it can't even read the CD... suggestion...

Hello
I have exactly the same problem. My drive doesn't recognize the CD, I don't know why. I try other CDs to see and it works. I put The Sims 3 back in, nothing happens, no matter how much I go to My Computer, the CD is not recognized by the computer. What is the cause of this problem?? It's really bothering me, I've wanted this game for so long and now I can't even play it!
Help!!! -
So here it is, I tried to follow more or less all the explanations given... And nothing.
I played The Sims 3 for quite a while... and suddenly nothing. I am on Vista. Also, I discovered that no region can be selected for my DVD drive... Could this possibly be related? Strangely enough, I was able to play this game for a long time...
Thank you for your responses! -
Same problem, on my sister's (laptop) computer, which is quite powerful and has a lot of RAM and a good graphics card, but it has a CD/DVD drive.
It works on my PC but I can't play lol... good graphics card but my RAM is crappy 400MB XD
I plan to buy some stuff to boost it. -
Hi, I had the same problem too, but don't worry, I think I have the solution.
So you need to download EA DOWNLOAD MANAGER and activate The Sims 3 by entering the serial number, and it should be fine. It takes a while to load, but at least you can play if I'm right; you normally have a laptop. I hope I helped you, let me know if it doesn't work. -
No, no such program on the computer where I wanted to install it.
-
So in the end, what is the solution?? Finally, what should be done for it to work because I have tried everything that is mentioned in the posts and so far nothing has worked.
-
For this problem, I uninstalled Nero and everything worked normally!!!
If you have Nero, that's probably what's preventing the CD from being recognized
There you go, good luck! -
DVD player, I just tested it with another DVD player on the same computer with no result (3rd player tried). But I tried it on another computer and the game starts perfectly.

Do you have a CD drive or a CD/DVD drive on your PC?
