Packard Bell laptop failure

Hello,

Last night, my laptop suddenly stopped working while it was on battery power, not plugged into the mains.
When it turned off, I was plugging in my speakers to the jack output. I was in the dark, and I think that when the computer shut down, I accidentally touched a USB port with the male jack plug...
I feel like I messed up, but I'm not sure. In any case, the laptop shut down suddenly (even though it had battery power), and this clearly seems related to the connection (either in one of the two female jack ports or after making contact with the USB port).

Since then, my laptop doesn't do anything; the LEDs don't light up when I plug it into the mains, and pressing the power button does nothing.
I've read on forums that there are fuses in laptops, and I'm wondering if this could be the kind of problem...

If you have any ideas about the issue, what I can do about it, or any documentation on the laptop, please help me ^^
(I'm quite handy and know a lot about computers)

The laptop is a Packard Bell EasyNote MX67-P-005, which is a little over two years old.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

90 chances out of 100 that it's a blown fuse (CMS type) on the motherboard.
CMS component measuring 2*2*5 mm (a magnifying glass is essential)
The fuse must be 4 or 5A.
So, disassembly + ohmmeter test of the fuse(s), there will be marked LF T 4 or 5 A (without battery or power supply)
(For testing, stay on battery, it's less risky than on power)
The open circuit voltage should be 19V I believe.

If you change the fuse (with a good fine tip soldering iron) make sure to use a timed LF T fuse (like Am for electricity, it prevents it from blowing at startup)

In any case, your problem is hardware-related and disassembly is essential; if you're not sure of yourself, get an estimate.

I think about a short circuit at a USB port...

Never heard of fuses on a laptop, but not impossible, yes!

When you find the manufacturer's documentation for the laptop, the fuse - if there is one - and replace it, and retested the laptop on a power outlet delivering voltage, and if the problem persists, take it to a specialized store that performs repairs!

The fuses will look like this:

    Fuse1 Fuse2

I couldn't find your exact motherboard, but the principle is the same.

Hello Anton85, I'm experiencing the same problem as you on my Packard Bell EasyNote. How did you solve it? Thank you for your response. Eric
