broken laptop screen

Question

Hello,

I have the screen of my laptop (a Toshiba Satellite Pro AS 60) that is completely broken...
I would like to change it.
How do I do that, can I do it myself or do I have to go to a specialized store?
Or should I buy a new screen...

Hello,
As a technician myself, I have changed laptop screens before. It's not too difficult but it's not something everyone can do.
First, find a screen of the same brand and for the same laptop, to avoid connection issues.
So the best thing to do is to check out computer shops that keep laptops for spare parts, and hopefully come across the right screen, and then gather your courage with one hand and the screwdriver with the other.

I had a little accident: the other day I was playing CS quite comfortably in my room, but my laptop was on a small desk that wobbled a bit. Then bam, the laptop fell on my knee.
Overall, the screen is slightly cracked with a small fissure, but it still works perfectly.

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to put a different laptop screen on a PC. Let me explain, I have an Acer Aspire 5100 and an Acer E725, and I would like to put the screen from the 5100 on the E725. They are the same size and from the same brand, and apparently, they have the same connectivity. I want to know if it might risk burning the graphics card since they are not the same model at all. I had a brightness issue with my HP computer screen. In fact, it was the inverter that needed to be changed. If it's not an inverter issue, you should know that the panels are mostly standard regardless of the brand (there are always exceptions, of course).

So, panels are available and they're not difficult to install. You need to be meticulous, especially, and you definitely don't want to run into the exception in question.
