first of all, for someone who wants to be a computer scientist, you should know that you should never place a laptop on a bed, you're blocking its ventilation
then, if the computer was provided to you by the college, your parents must have taken out liability insurance... turn to the insurance for the repair of the computer and don't embark on random repairs
