    Hello Tom222,
I have the same problem, impossible to find the Mustek ScanExpress A3 usb 64bit driver for seven. I see that your question dates back to March 2009, and I would like to know if you've found a solution since then. I have 2 scanners out of order since I switched to seven!!! Thank you in advance for your response.

Well, it's probably a bit late, but here is the procedure to install the Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB drivers on Windows 7 SP1 32-bit

    - DO NOT PLUG IN THE SCANNER

    - Go to the Mustek website and download the A3 USB drivers for Vista http://www.mustek.com.tw/Support/

    - Right-click on the file web.exe
    - Go to properties
    - Go to the compatibility tab
    - Check the box run this program in compatibility mode for
    - From the dropdown menu choose Vista SP2
    - Check the box run this program as an administrator
    - Run the program
    - When it’s finished, plug in the scanner and let Windows 7 install the driver.

In principle, it should work on 64-bit, but I couldn't experiment with it.

I got the solution by writing directly to Mustek as I couldn't find a solution online. They replied within 12 hours...

No, Chondrina, it's not too late....

I've been struggling for several months to find a solution. I also wrote to Mustek, and I got a quick response, but it was just to tell me to buy a newer model!

I tested the method on Windows in both 32 and 64 bits: it works perfectly!

Thanks for this info, it's great

I've followed your instructions and tried all possible drivers, but it still displays "An error occurred during scanning" and the computer doesn't detect the scanner among the devices at any time.

      Hello,

I despair of finding the drivers,
I have an Epson Perfection 1250 A4 scanner, it's an old model but it works perfectly and the other one: "Mustek ScanExpress A3 usb", no number added. I tried installing the drivers for later versions, the ones with a number like 600 or 1200 (web.exe): nothing, not even in compatibility mode. With the 64-bit version of the ScanExpress A3 usb 1200 Pro the bar goes back and forth but the lamp does not turn on so no image. For the Epson, I tried a procedure I found on Google, it didn't work for me, I'm posting it, in case it works for someone else:
Method "D" system to install Epson Perfection 1250 scanner under 7 with Epson Smart Panel software.

      1) Download the latest driver for the Epson Perfection 1250 Vista (dated 3/23/08) from the Epson France website.
      2) Uninstall everything related to your scanner on your computer (drivers, programs)
      3) Install the downloaded driver (double click on the zip)
if it crashes click on: "restart with recommended settings"

      4) Take your Smart Panel installation CD and install only Smart Panel, if it crashes click on: "restart with recommended settings"

      5) Go to the "Epson" directory that was created by the installation and search in all the subdirectories for the .exe (applications) on each .exe go to properties then compatibility tab and click on "run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose "Windows 98" for all programs.

      6) You may need to shut down and restart the computer

Currently, I managed to get a second PC running on XP, it's a bit of a hassle to transfer all my scans from one PC to another but at least I can work.

I think these models will never have updated drivers for seven 64 bits. It's a way for manufacturers to force the renewal of equipment!! Epson clearly states: there will be no drivers for old models!! I'm always looking for a trick that works. A big thank you in advance.

Hello, I plan to buy the Mustek USB A3 (at 600 or 1200 dpi) and I'm using Windows Seven. I would like to know if you managed to resolve the issue with Seven. Thank you very much in advance!!!

I also had a lot of trouble getting my scanner to work on my Mac. At first, I managed to do a few scans and then I had the idea to "improve" my computer by installing Snow Leopard so that I would supposedly be more up to date!!!
Since that installation, it hasn't been possible to scan at all. I looked for driver programs that would be compatible with Snow Leopard. Useless.
In the end, I realized that by installing Snow, my Photoshop didn't work anymore either. And it's necessary for a program like Photoshop to be activated to make the scanner work. So I downloaded (as a free trial) Photoshop Elements 8 and everything is like new. I hope this helps you and resolves your issues. As usual, it's silly but it had to be thought of.
    Good luck
    Stephan
