Hello,
I was working on my MacBook 13'3" when suddenly, looking up, I noticed a horizontal black line on the screen.
It must be about 0.5 mm thick and runs across the entire screen at about 1/3 of the height (from the top).

I restarted the computer, but it’s still there. It’s not a scratch, it doesn’t appear when it’s off.

What is it?
How can I get rid of it?
I really want to avoid the service center, it’s only been a day -_____________-
Configuration: Mac OS X Safari 525.27.1

Hello,

Does it stay regardless of the application? Did the Mac take a hit?

If it's from yesterday, take it back to where you bought it and ask for a refund (you have 7 days).

She is omnipresent. Regardless of the application, the user account used, or the moment (even at startup).

He did not take any hits.

A week... Alright. I have an extra 2 and a half year warranty.

One day still! Ah! I'm disgusted.

Hello -
indeed, after one day ???? new or used? do you have the Apple DVDs?
what would I do??
since I assume you haven't had time to accumulate 4000 photos and 600 movies, I would reinstall the system
but I'm not convinced it's a software problem, well, it's free and it doesn't take 5 hours
there's an ARCHIVE / INSTALL option anyway
I would especially call Apple (or my vendor, a store?) with the invoice; the technician will have an idea and maybe you'll even be helped at home, it depends on where you live. Otherwise, they'll send you to a very nearby authorized center; it will be free, but there may be immobilization
I don't remember reading anything similar recently on this forum, so I don't have any links to suggest to you

good luck, and let us know what happens

Okay, it's a defect then.

Go to the store tomorrow and tell them it's defective and that the bar was present from the start.

Request an immediate refund or exchange, not a return to customer service that will take a long time!

The consumer has a period of seven calendar days to exercise their right of withdrawal without having to justify their reasons or pay penalties, except, if applicable, for return shipping costs.

Thank you, I will do that.
I'm asking for another one. (BeMac shop)
Too bad I spent 4 hours configuring and optimizing it...

(Only software guaranteed by Apple)

Can I use Time Machine to transfer everything to the new one?

If you have an external hard drive set up for Time Machine, yes.
