Hello,
I bought Broken Sword 4 and everything works perfectly except that all the characters are black and everything else is clearly visible!!! What should I do??
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.6

Hi, so there's a super simple method!!
If the characters appear in black, there’s a good chance your processor is a dual-core or quad-core (2 or 4 cores^^)
Old games like Baphomet 4 can only run on ONE single core, and for that, you need to disable the others to be able to play!!

Steps to follow (for Windows 7 for sure!! to be tested on Vista)

1- Click on "Start" then in "search" or "run" type: "msconfig"
2- Click on the "Startup" tab then on ADVANCED OPTION
3- Check "number of processors" and select 1!!
4- Confirm, the computer will prompt you to restart, say OK!!

And normally upon restart, when you launch your game again, your characters should no longer be black but clearly visible!!

PS: Don’t forget once you finish playing to reverse the manipulation to uncheck the "number of processors" box and restart the computer so that all processors start working again^^

There you go, have fun, and hope this helps you out.

Yeah, after all, the Pentium 4 would have done the job!! LOL

slt, I have exactly the same problem as you for over 6 months and still no solution, so if you have had better luck than me, it would be cool to let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with completely black characters like silhouettes but in The Sims 3. I don't know if it's the same issue, but if you found a solution, I would like to know it. Thank you in advance :)
