Sims 3 Household Character Switch Issue

Hello,
First of all, if this topic has already been listed, please let me know :) (and therefore indicate where, that would be GREAT!)
After changing active households twice, I am back with my initial family, except that... I cannot switch characters within my household. Let me explain: the first household member is displayed (as well as their needs, jobs, skills, etc.), but as soon as I want to change, I indeed hear the "click", I wait a bit, but even after half an hour, the icon is still that of the first character. However, it is worth noting that despite this, I can control all the other characters, except that I am on the icon of the first one AND that the inventory and age are those of the first character.
Can we say that this bug is a hindrance? At first glance, one might think "oh, it'll be fine," but in the end: it's annoying, and very quickly actually, so if anyone has experienced this bug and/or has suggestions to address this problem, I'm all ears :)

PS: I have absolutely no mods or anything... I don't know how to use them, so no worries on that front.

Hello, the party may have crashed, it happened to me once. I managed to fix the problem with the code: resetsim + First name Last name of the character.

Your question is outdated, but I’ll respond just in case and for future reference. I had the same issue as you (it's annoying) and I followed the instructions from this link http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files
It involves deleting cache files (which will regenerate automatically when the game starts)
For me, it resolved that bug.
