Hello,
I got The Sims 3 yesterday for my birthday. I created a character, I installed it, and I would like to know how to add members to a family.
Thank you to everyone who will respond.
Thanks, Margaux.

Hello,

When you create a family, it's with them that you play. They are your active household. If you want to add other sims to the same city, click on the button with three dots at the bottom left and select "edit town". Then, still at the bottom left, there will be an icon with two houses, that's for changing active households. Click on it. Now, if you want to create another family, click on the "create sims" button and there you go. Then you choose a house for them, just like when you first started the game.

So your two families (or more! You can create as many as you want) will be in the same city and can meet each other.

To change your active household (to play with the other family), click again on "change active household" (the two little houses) and instead of clicking on create a sim, select "choose a household" and choose the house where your family lives.

There you go!
I hope I helped you ... ;)

Hello,

I wanted to ask for a little clarification.. I already have a family, can I create a character from scratch to add to this family (instead of creating another one by varying with the active household)? So far, to ensure my family persists, I made them give birth to at least one baby each generation, but I want to change their "genes" (since in the end they all look somewhat alike).

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I had the same question, is it possible to integrate a new sim created into an existing household... and this without going through the active household?
Thank you in advance to everyone for your possible answers...
