Hello,
Recently (a few weeks ago), for some emails sent, I receive a Successful Mail Delivery Report message. Why is Orange sending me a message to say that the message has been successfully sent; a few minutes later, I do receive the "read receipts" from the recipients. I don't think I have changed any settings either on Orange.fr or in Outlook...
The content of the message sent by Orange varies:
"This is the mail system at host mwinf2b21.orange.fr.
Your message was successfully delivered to the destination(s) listed below. If the message was delivered to the mailbox you will receive no further notifications. Otherwise you may still receive notifications of mail delivery errors from other systems.
The mail system
<xxxxxxxxxxxxx@wanadoo.fr>: alias expanded"
or
"This is the mail system at host mwinf2b21.orange.fr.
Your message was successfully delivered to the destination(s) listed below. If the message was delivered to the mailbox you will receive no further notifications. Otherwise you may still receive notifications of mail delivery errors from other systems.
The mail system
<xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@kellyservices.fr>: delivery via filter2: delivered via filter2
service"
Does anyone have any idea? Thank you in advance.

Hello,
same here, only since last week. Two or three at the beginning, which I thought were spam because they listed addresses I didn't know... But today, I have a Successful Delivery for all my sent emails. However, I think this only refers to the successful delivery to the ISP's server and not the receipt on the recipient's PC (or Mac). For proof, I know that my recipients today are currently not at home, their PCs being off. Obviously, the message is in English (thanks Orange). I’m trying to translate it: "Your message was successfully delivered to the recipient(s) listed below. If the message was delivered to a mailbox, you will not receive any further notifications. If this was not the case, you may still receive notifications of delivery errors from other systems" (systems = ISPs?). This may simply mean that Orange (in my case) has received my messages to forward, without knowing if they were received on the opposing ISP's server. Perhaps there's a missing word in their damn English sentence, like "if the message was delivered to a mailbox of the same ISP, you will not receive further notifications.

The specific request for a read receipt is an internal option and related to the email that asks for a voluntary action from the recipient. So, it’s not an automatic response like it used to be for certain options that would send back a message like "...informs you that your message has been "opened", but in no way proves that it has been "read"".
To be continued.
Maybe one day our ISPs will send us "news" informing users about modifications or improvements they are making that raise so many questions for us... and also make us waste a lot of time pondering or, here, sorting. The best, in this specific case, is surely to create a reception folder specifically for such information. But, hello the time spent if we are curious to know whether a certain email has indeed been received amidst this flood of notifications!
If someone has an exact explanation, please feel free to share it with us!
Have a good day
