Hello,

I would like to know if this works:
-I connect an HDMI/DVI cable (HDMI side) to an HDMI graphics card
-I connect the DVI side to my monitor

Thank you for your responses!!!

Your monitor? If it’s a computer screen the cable is built into the screen, if it’s a TV then yes, that’s it and it should work! Well, normally^^

    Hi,

There won't be any problem. The only drawback is that HDMI carries both image and sound, while DVI only carries the image.

    See you!

Alright, thank you for your answers!
Because I thought that the HDMI/DVI cable only worked one way.

    Thanks!

The meaning of connection: If I plug the HDMI or DVI side into the graphics card or the monitor.

In short, I wanted to know if the input or output signal works both ways.

      Hi,

Your question isn't clear. As you asked it, I assumed you had a graphics card with an HDMI port and a monitor that only had a DVI port. Either your graphics card has an HDMI port and your monitor does too, in which case an HDMI cable is enough. Or your graphics card has a DVI port and the monitor has a DVI as well, in which case a DVI cable is sufficient.

In any case, try to explain better where your problem is.

      See you later

In clear terms, my graphics card has an HDMI port and the monitor just has a DVI.

And I wanted to know if this connection would be possible!

    Thank you in advance!

      Hi,

It's possible, for example with a cable like this:
