In summary:

Chipsets are "graphics cards" integrated into motherboards, they are only good for 2D (and increasingly for managing HD streams), but very poor for 3D.

A dedicated graphics card, on the other hand, is equally comfortable in 3D as in 2D.

The choice you need to make should depend on your use; if you don't do 3D, a chipset will be sufficient for you, but on the other hand, getting a dedicated graphics card allows for both options and therefore gives you the possibility, even if you don't need 3D today, to later do 3D work, such as gaming, for example.

Hello, I know you posted this message a long time ago, but I have a chipset and I have a lot of 3D PC games that don't work. I would like to know if it is because of that and if I should change it.

A chipset is designed to manage video and 2D graphics, while a graphics card is intended to handle all types of 2D and 3D graphic calculations.
Therefore, for those who play a lot of games, a dedicated graphics card is recommended because these circuits are optimized for various graphic/video calculations.

I hope I answered your question :)
