Controller issue in Burnout Paradise on PC

Hello,
here is my problem, I just bought Burnout Paradise on PC. The game works perfectly but my controller doesn't work, there's no response. My controller is a "Saitek P2600".

    A bit late, but I just found another solution than uninstalling the game to have it recognize a controller installed after installing Burnout:
    In C:\Documents and Settings\your session\Local Settings\Application Data\Criterion Games, there is a file named Controls
    You just need to delete this file for the game to detect the controller on the next launch (Warning, you will lose your keyboard settings!)

    If this can be useful to some...

      don’t overthink it, go to the options as if you wanted to change the keyboard keys, change one key by pressing your controller, the game will automatically detect it, it will appear under "keyboard" and at that point, you just have to click on 'controller' and the game will offer to set the default keys for the controller, you say yes and you can return to the streets of paradise city

      it wasn't DJ diabolika and you’re not on crash fm ;)

        I had the same issue, so go to the Control Panel, then Device Manager, and logically the Xbox controller will have a small question mark. Click on it, then go to Driver and choose to update the driver. Finally, start the game and configure the buttons in the command menu, and there you go.

    actually it's simple
    -go to the command options panel in Burnout
    -select the buttons to modify (even if the controller doesn't appear)
    -configure your controller by pressing the buttons on the controller, it will be recognized directly and you'll see that your controller is recognized!
    there you go

    Well, I had the same problem with quite a few games, with several brands of controllers
    There's only one solution to be worry-free!!

    Invest 59 euros in the wireless Xbox 360 controller for PC, and there, you feel like you're on a console; the games immediately recognize the controller and are instantly configured

      For my part, I bought Burnout Paradise last weekend. It works very well with the keyboard. This evening, I just bought a wired XBOX 360 controller. I installed the driver provided on the Microsoft CD-ROM.
      The controller works correctly according to the Windows control panel.
      Similarly, no problem, immediate detection in Need for Speed Undercover, but no luck in Burnout Paradise, it is not recognized, I only have access to the keyboard configuration.
      Do I need to uninstall Burnout and reinstall it again? Is there a particular menu other than the command configuration to declare it?
      Any other ideas?

        Sur le site jeuxvideo.com, ils ont testé Burnout Paradise avec la manette Xbox 360
        A priori pas de soucis
        Peut-être que tout simplement, il faut que tu accèdes dans le menu options avec ta souris et ton clavier et que dans les commandes, tu valides ton contrôleur Xbox
        Moi, en ce moment, je joue à Fallout et c'est le même cas de figure

        The solution is to uninstall Burnout Paradise and then reinstall it!!!!! Because if you install Burnout Paradise before installing the controller, it will not work!!! Then reconfigure the controller in the controls menu by clicking with the mouse on a command (for example accelerate) and then on the appropriate controller button!!!
        Important, the saves are located in: C:\Documents and Settings\your session\Local Settings\Application Data\Criterion Games

    I have the same problem with mine.
    When I try to configure the keys, the game freezes and I have to restart.

    Hi, I had the same problem as you with a Saitek P880. I had no choice but to install a key mapping software that you can find on the Saitek website.

    Then you can configure the keyboard keys to your controller.

    I have a problem in Burnout Paradise: I enter the game normally with no issues, I play without problems, but after a few races [6 or 7 ...] I just won a new car, but instead of seeing that car, I see a black square :s then the game closes automatically! Thank you in advance for your reply [-- PS: the patch (update)] has already been installed ...
