Hello,
I am looking for the title of a very old song which I remember some lyrics:
Verse
Ah, there you are Cobra yes I wanted to see you
...
Chorus
Name me my rival,
Cobra, fatal snake,
I saw you under the moon
...
Thank you in advance.

I met her one evening at the cabaret
and since then my soul is lost forever
I am the slave of Cobra who leads me
to the places where one quickly becomes a bandit

I wanted to escape these nightmares and these houses
but powerless, without will and without reason
I stay here and want to know her lovers
also in the evening in a whisper, one hears

me, my rival
Cobra, the flower of evil
I saw you by the moon
fleeing into the dark night

crazy, I followed your steps
for you see, my Cobra
in your rings of fever
I die searching for your lips

ah there you are, yes Cobra, I wanted to see you
I am ruined and I have only one hope left
there is no one left but you in this life
don't go away, stay with me, I beg you

how is it you who dares to utter these words
later than yesterday I pursued in a gaming house
an honest man that your claws had taken
I understood everything but now I am cursed

I killed my rival
for you, fatal demon
wait, say your prayer
you will die, viper

die in my hands
spit your filthy venom
then sell me your soul
I have carried out vile justice

Thank you, a hundred times thank you, for the song Cobra that we sang on board, on the trawler (Bassilour) between 1955 and 1959 in Newfoundland. Many memories come back to me. Thank you again!!

Me too, I've been looking for this song "Cobra" by Gilbert Laudato for "ages". Thanks to the contributions on this forum, I was finally able to find the lyrics as well as the title and the artist. Malice11, if you have the audio file of this song, please send it to me. I know it's not very legal, but it's really impossible to find. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have the lyrics to Cobra by Gilbert Laudato. You say you have finally found it. Is it the lyrics or the audio file? If it’s the latter, could you send me this file with which I will make a very big surprise for an elderly lady who used to sing it in her youth?

Thank you in advance.

Here is what comes back to me (to be corrected), a few phrases are still missing...

COBRA

I met her one night at the cabaret
and since then my soul is lost and confused
I am the slave of Cobra who leads me
to places where one quickly becomes a criminal

Ah here you are Cobra
Just what I wanted to see you for
I am ruined, I have no hope left
All I have left is you in this life
Stay with me, Cobra I beg you

I killed my rival
For you, fatal demon

To die in my hands
Spit out your filthy venom
Give me your soul
I bring justice, vile one

from memory, other snippets:
I met her one evening at the cabaret
and since then my soul is lost, wandered
I am the slave of Cobra who leads me
to places where one quickly becomes a bandit
I wanted to flee this nightmare and these houses
but lost, without will and reason
I stay here waiting for your lovers
and in the night, in a whisper, one can hear:

Name me my rival
Cobra, fatal serpent
I saw him under the moon
Wandering in the brown night
Crazy, I followed his footsteps
for you see my Cobra
In your fever rings
I die searching for your lips...

I can tell you that I have this song on a CD titled "Les Déjantés" for about ten years now.
On this CD, there is also "La vipère du trottoir," and a few other "tracks" that quite accurately express the misery of man, obviously because of all those damn reptiles! Well, that's how it is, I won't change anything! Good luck, man!

Hello

I just learned that you have a CD with the song "Cobra and the Viper from the Sidewalk."
I have been looking for these two songs for a long time; my dad used to sing them to me, and since his passing
I have been searching for them. Could you please send them to my email? That would be very kind of you.
I look forward to your reply and thank you in advance.

See you soon, boubamimi

She appeared on Radio Galère on Sunday, November 7th at 11 a.m. for the Musette show 88.4. I wrote to get the contact details; you can also call on Sunday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 0491082815. That's all I know for now.

Hello,

Thank you very much for this clarification. It is possible to download the entire show from November 7. The song "Cobra" is indeed present towards the end.

I believe I will make a nice Christmas gift for an elderly person who has been desperately looking for this song. I even wrote to the publishing house but to no avail (although they did respond to me).

Thanks again

Who wrote the song "COBRA" I met it one evening at the cabaret?

I stumbled upon the sheet music for Cobra: the lyrics are by J. Ganteaume and the music is by A. Sommavigo and J. Ganteaume. I recorded the show on Radio Galère and I have the file of the song sung by Gilbert Laudato.
When I return from vacation, I will give you the exact lyrics. However, I don't think I'll be able to upload the song file to this forum. If you write to me personally, I can send it to you.
