[WORD] Offset issue Solved

Question

Hello,

I have observed what seems to be a bug in Word.
I notice a discrepancy when moving a drawing object (in this case, a circle) between its actual position and the position where we want to place it... let me explain.

If I want to raise the circle by a certain height, I have to double that height for the circle to be in the desired position. Is this a known issue?

If I am not explaining myself well, I will try to clarify further...

Absolutely normal: Word has an invisible grid, specifically designed to align objects horizontally and vertically, just like for the Desktop icons (if you checked "Auto-arrange icons by .../Align to grid").

So you need to:
* Select your drawing
* Display the Drawing toolbar
* Click on Draw/Grid...
* Uncheck the first two options "Align objects to ... "

and you check: it should work.

It's not a bug, there's a method:

You select your circle and then you press Ctrl + the up, down, left, right arrows. And your circle will move very little at a time and you'll get great precision.

To make your circle move faster, you select it and then press the arrows; it moves faster that way.

Thank you, but I was talking about a movement with the mouse...
When I release the object, it goes back to the initial position; I have to release it much higher for it to reach the desired position, otherwise it drops back... It feels like a kind of anchoring, except that it is disabled.

Good evening  Your drawing is connected to the paragraph you right-click on and go to format (I think) because I don't know which Word you are using.

Obviously, it doesn't change anything; the images are always misaligned with the desired position. It looks more like a bug than a configuration problem.

Hello, and sorry for not replying sooner.

This is a confidential document from my company; I am not allowed to disclose it. I suspect it's more of a Word bug.
In this document, there is a table with 3 columns that contains images in one column. There is always a sort of anchor attached to the images, but disabling the anchoring does not change anything; the anchor remains present.

I haven't followed the entire discussion, but regarding the anchor, it's important to know that every Word object (with wrapping) is anchored.
I've explained everything here about this anchor that causes quite a stir! ;)

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem, that is to say I have a 4-column table, with a diagram in one of them: rectangles connected by arrows. However, I can't do it!!! Usually it works, but now the arrows are completely misaligned; whether I place them with the mouse or with the arrow keys, they shift by 1.5 cm from where I want to position them. If anyone has a solution, I would gladly take it. Thank you.

Hello,

Your arrows are probably positioned relative to a text. Reposition them relative to the margins or the edge of the paper.. Double click on it, Text wrapping => Advanced.

Thanks for the info.
I did what you told me, but apparently everything was fine (compared to other diagrams where the issue doesn't occur). However, I changed the text wrapping (I set it to top and bottom) and it worked!! But there's a new problem, I'm getting to a second page, so my table continues, I continue my diagram, and there, when I try to center an arrow or a rectangle, they get centered, but in another column!!! Do you know how I can fix this? For now, I've done it randomly, so it's not great... thanks!!

Good evening,

If you want to center a shape in a table cell, treat it like a character, and therefore don't apply any wrapping to it; it will be much easier.
