Hello,
I bought a Thomson 46FE9234 LCD screen, and I'm experiencing an audio/video delay issue when trying to play DVDs.
I connected it to a Samsung Blu-ray player via HDMI and I get the HD picture, but the sound is almost inaudible (there's a delay and a lot of noise).
I connected it to a Sony DVD player via scart, and I still get the picture, but the sound is completely out of sync with the image.
Both players work perfectly on another television.
I did some research online and it seems that one possibility might be to enter the service menu, but I can't find any way to access it.
Has anyone encountered this issue or can tell me how to enter this menu on this LCD model?
Thank you all for your help.

Hello
here is the solution to your problem
TCL TVs (like Thomson)
for the sound and image delays
occur when you switch from a channel that has sound in 5.1 format (France 2) to a source (AV1 HDMI...)
the problem is well known to TCL, they tell you to send your TV for repair, while it’s just a matter of software and a setting in the TV's sound menu. For the crackling, you need to set both audio language 1 and 2 to undefined and in another setting SPDIF (PCM) to off.
another problem encountered is a high-pitched beep lasting 2 to 3 seconds or more, the motherboard is going to fail, and this problem is also known by TCL. This applies to all TCL products where you can set the sound to undefined.
for TVs that go from black to white, this is also known by TCL and again it's a software update issue.
a tip from a friend who works at b....... if you send your TV for repair more than 3 times, you can request a commercial agreement.
for pixel problems, you can stick it up your... your TV has a tolerance for that. at the retailer b......... (thanks to my sales lady) zero tolerance for pixels, so replacement of your TV. I had 4 dead pixels 1 white, 1 black, 1 red, and 1 blue, so I received a store credit (thanks miss sales lady for the commercial solution) so in simple conclusion, like at b......, there is no tolerance for screen defects; you need (to see) more than 3 pixels to contest.
that's all for the info, see you later and consider changing TV brand because TCL = junk.

Hello everyone,
I happened to notice that my antenna reception (which is quite average, to be honest) was disrupting the entire system regarding the peripherals (both SCART and HDMI). Audio/video desynchronization on peripherals & ...... ANTENNA!??? You might ask what the connection is, as logically there shouldn't be one!!
Yeah, well, even I had a hard time believing it, so much so that it took me a while to post this response thinking it was nonsense. But apparently not, because ever since I unplugged my antenna cable from the television, when I switch to a peripheral, everything works perfectly (no more lag!!!).
So UNPLUG YOUR ANTENNA CABLE COMPLETELY when you switch to AV or HDMI!! (keep the cable away from the sensor, as the reception is very sensitive). Because if you have somewhat poor reception, it disrupts your TV system, causing problems even with peripherals.
My model is the THOMSON 19HR3234. I also noted that sometimes, while playing on my PS3, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the TV would cut the sound with a deafening BIIIIIIIIIIP for about 10 seconds!!! Obviously, it hadn't happened to me in months since I was careful to unplug that damn antenna cable (which I ended up leaving unplugged since I'm not really into TV channels, lol). And strangely enough, it occurred again last night while playing because I had forgotten to unplug the antenna after watching the opening of the World Cup in South Africa.
So give it a try, even though the connection to antenna reception might seem far-fetched and bizarre, try it!! Your problem might be as simple to solve as mine.

Hello,
I tested the setting to "No default language" since it was posted here... Since then, I no longer notice any delay, sometimes there are crackles but much less frequently than before.
At first, I couldn't find the language setting because on external sources (where I encountered the problem) this parameter is disabled, I made the setting on the TV without much conviction but since then it's holding...

Hello
I have a Saba l32gm10 from the same brand and the same problem!
There is a delay that keeps growing when I'm using HDMI: your solution of setting the TV language to undefined... is impossible for me, I have to choose a language.
Does anyone have another solution?

Same problem as all of you (out of sync sound) and also solved with the indefinite language.
However, I have another rather strange issue, for your information I am on an indoor antenna that works very well, and when I’m on an HD channel, no matter which one, I have a weird noise at the sound level, a high-pitched crackling that lasts two to three seconds and it happens about every half hour......
I would be happy to know if anyone has experienced this and if they managed to resolve it!
Thank you and happy holidays to all!!!! :-)

Hello, to respond to those who have a sound problem, when you use a Blu-ray player (or console) try to remain on a digital channel (e.g. France 3) before turning on the player, and not on an HD channel like 1, 2, ARTE, 6, etc. Normally, you will notice that there is no more crackling.
apparently this TV is very poorly finished...
I have exactly the same issue, no cracking though, but a huge delay that didn't appear at first... for now the only solution I have is to connect my PS3/Xbox to an amplifier... the sound is then perfect but I have to keep making connections :(
Moreover, after taking a look at the Thomson website, the company that distributes in France has gone bankrupt, great for the manufacturer’s warranty, I think I'm going to try to get a refund from Planet Saturn (I bought it there for 599€...)
Also, for PS3 owners, is the Blu-ray playback of good quality? for me it leaves a lot to be desired, especially in terms of the rendering of skies (whites) and dark scenes (very noisy)...
Glad to not be the only one in this mess...

Hello,
I just purchased this television and I must admit I was perplexed after reading your comments once the TV was ordered.
I immediately tried all the inputs, TV, RCA, and HDMI, and they all give complete satisfaction, no sound/image delay, I'm very happy with this purchase especially since I was able to take advantage of a sale promotion.
For your information, the SPDIF setting is on PCM.

after contacting customer service, you simply need to go to the menu, sound, and set the chosen language to "undefined"
The issue is listed with Thomson so the solution should normally be reliable, I'll see in the long term!
I hope that future buyers with this problem will have a glimmer of hope when seeing this message ^^

Hello
I have been experiencing the exact same problem with my 40" Thomson HD TV for exactly 3 weeks: sound and picture are out of sync 9 times out of 10, especially with video streams from the Freebox HD => I have tried everything possible in terms of settings, that is, in the realm of logic, but without success. Now I am sure it comes from the TV: because by turning the TV on and off several times in a row, we can resynchronize the sound and picture without touching the source => so it is indeed a bug in the TV!
I just read dcz45's post and I'm immediately testing his workaround "undefined language" and will keep you updated (if I don't write anything else, it means it's working) <=> if it works, I find it to be a very simple and effective workaround, but it still needed to be found, amazing! Otherwise, we will have to wait for a firmware update for this TV.
Thank you.

Guys, I'm on top. I just tuned into the conversation after not checking the news for 6 months. Thank you Santa Claus when I saw the method to follow to get the sound working again.
It works: language setting - not defined and also spdif on pcm
I hope it lasts and now I'm going back to Modern Warfare 2 (with sound)
Thanks everyone and especially don't ever buy Thomson again.

Hi, I also bought a Thomson LCD TV 117cm, and I am experiencing the same sound issues, whether it's with my Home Cinema, Free, Wii, PS3, DVD player, Canal+... I connected all the devices to an old TV and everything works. So it's definitely a problem with the Thomson TV.
There's a significant sound delay and a lot of interference... it's unbearable.
I just read all your messages and I see that I'm not the only one and that there might be a solution.... if that works... that would be great.... I'll keep you updated..... anyway, I'm going to go to Saturn... because it's one of the sellers who recommended it to me.... unacceptable!!!

a pessimistic news for everyone... after a few months with the "makeshift" adjustments to make everything work, the sound ends up getting out of sync... I'll end up sending this piece of junk TV to customer service :(
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thanks to this forum, I just solved my delay problem that I had been struggling with for 6 months and whew, it’s better now. I couldn't take it anymore not being able to watch a movie on my DVD player or play on my console without that abominable audio delay. I set it to undefined language and miracle, it works. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts, but I’m definitely fed up with Thomson!!!!
Hey everyone, just like you, I have the same issue with this Thomson television: the sound is completely out of sync, and there’s even cracking sound followed by the delay with various devices like PS3, Xbox 360, Canal Sat, and many more. After trying various tips, the crackling happened less often but was still present.
So, I ended up unplugging the aerial cable, and since then, all the crackling and delay have stopped. It might just be a lucky break or a temporary solution, but it works for me, and I wanted to share this fix with you. I hope this can help you too!
See you soon, good luck to all!

I’m joining this thread as I saw the 52" model from the series for less than 1000€ at But, Confo, and the like.
In the end, I feel like I'm not going to invest in the thing... I had a feeling there was something fishy about such a low price.
So, I'm probably going to aim for something smaller diagonally...
At the same time, I was wondering who brought back the brands from the 80s like Saba, Telefunken, Thomson... uh, LCD Telefunken... no, I might have dreamed that. Or not. All that's missing is Radiola ^^'

Good evening. I found an even simpler solution regarding the crackling. In my case, it was enough to switch from wide stereo to stereo, and there are no more unwanted sounds. However, I don't have any delay issues, or maybe just a slight one at times.
What is your opinion on this television? As for me, I am quite satisfied with the image quality in HD and even SD, but I lament some adaptation problems when there is a lot of white, and of course this finishing issue with the sound (crackling and delay). Thank you.

Hi everyone, well I just bought a THOMSON 52FE9234B 133CM TV... Well, I have a delay between the sound and the image when I'm on the Orange TV and the same thing on PS3 but with a little crackling added... I tried your solution but the problem is that every time I turn the TV back on, I have to switch to the TV channel, press the red lang button, switch from French to undefined for it to work... So my TV is going for repairs and they'll give me another one in the meantime... perfect, I'm really disappointed.
Hello everyone!
So, I have a 500GB external hard drive with movies on it;
I connected this hard drive to my DVD player (Sony RGR-GX380): it recognizes it, I can browse and watch the movies without any problems;
the only issue is that gradually, I have a sound delay when I watch a movie; there isn't one at the beginning of the playback, but the delay becomes more significant as time goes on; by the way, I noticed that when I stopped playback (stop) and then started it again, the delay disappeared for a while, then it came back a bit later.
Please help me!!!

Bonsoir à tous. Do we know if there is an update available for this screen? If so, on which site? Thank you.
Hello, I also have a THOMSON 46FE9234 TV that I bought recently.
No audio/video sync issues.
However, I’m trying to use the USB port because the manual mentions reading videos, images, and music from a USB drive by automatically accessing the THOMSON TV's "Media Center"...
Once my USB stick is inserted, NOTHING HAPPENS, no "Media Center." Do you have the same problem?

Note a little tricky tip. On my TV model, if you are in HDMI while playing a DVD, the "Sound" menu does not offer the "language" option. You have to do the operation in TV mode to access the Language line and thus set it to Undefined.
