Hello,
Following some power issues with my Antec 350W, I ordered an Antec Sonata III 500W case (there's a €20 difference between just a power supply or a complete case). I just received it, and after carefully disassembling and reassembling the components, I'm encountering an issue. The computer starts up correctly, confirming my diagnosis about the power supply. However, the USB ports are not working. The USB ports on the front (on the case) or at the back (on the motherboard) are not functioning. I arrived at this conclusion after noticing that:
the USB connector from the case, when plugged into one of the motherboard slots, caused the computer to crash (it starts up correctly and once the Windows desktop is displayed, everything freezes, reboot is necessary). When I unplug the internal connector, the computer starts up perfectly.
When I plug a USB stick into the front or back, there is no response from Windows.
I would like to point out that I did not have this problem with the old case.
My configuration is

Well, I bought a new motherboard that works very well. I think the previous motherboard must have had a problem with the USB controller.

It's a 10-pin connector with a key. I've connected it to the three designated locations on the motherboard, and each time I get the same result.
I have another element that might help. In the device manager, we can see that there are 7 USB root hubs and 7 USB host controllers. Isn't that a bit too much (I have 6 USB ports, 4 of which are on the motherboard)?

I tried uninstalling the USB drivers via the control panel. When I restarted the PC, Windows automatically reinstalled the USB drivers. I don't think the problem lies with the ports themselves. The problem is present both in the front (USB ports on the case) and at the back (ports on the motherboard). The problem comes either from the motherboard or from the software. I also checked the BIOS.
