Hello,
I restored my Windows VISTA but the problem is I lost my hidden folders with the Hide Folder software, which is also lost after the restore. I reinstalled it but I still can't find my folders protected by Hide Folder, even though the hard drive shows 50 GB of space used, but when I check, I find 30 GB, which means my folders are there but I can't make them appear. I tried using the option to show hidden folders but still nothing. Please help me, thank you.

Well, if the problem concerns free hide folder, I think I found the solution.
Actually, I was using free hide folder.
Then I formatted my PC, forgetting that I had hidden some folders on another partition.
So when I reinstalled my system properly, it was impossible to access the hidden folders! It was as if they weren't there...
So I sent an email to the support of free hide folder (really…) and they sent me a link to a little software to download, which is pretty good!
Actually, you have to uninstall free hide folder if it’s installed, then run the software in question, which can see the folders even if they are hidden, and select the folder to restore, and bam, it's done!

There you go!

Hello everyone, I saw this topic and I'm very interested simply because I have the same problem but for me Restore.exe doesn't work. Please can you help me find my hidden file with hide folders? Thanks in advance
P.S.: I've lost my hide folders password so I can't display my hidden file anymore :( .

Well, my problem is simpler... (although not for me). I installed Free Hide Folder. I hid a folder by clicking on HIDE. I closed the software. And today, I reopen it, I type in my password... and neither HIDE nor UNHIDE are accessible to me. I can't click on them... and no folder is displayed in the list. Yet, my folder is definitely hidden: it cannot be found by my Windows Explorer!!! HELP, HELP, HELP!!! :-)
Hello! I just reinstalled Windows on my PC, and I should have backed up my hidden folder by making it visible first... No problem since it was already on my external drive. But after reinstalling Winmend, it no longer accepts my password, of course, and I can't find my file. I'm working hard to recover it, and I used this restore.exe. I now see a winmend folder. But nothing inside? When I search on my PC via Windows, it finds all the content of the file, but I can't access it?
Attention, I pushed the program a bit and there are quite a few bugs...
First of all, if you synchronize a part containing a hidden folder, it finds it but restores it to the wrong location at the source, and I'm talking about the latest current version.
Then often the encryption damages the videos sometimes, like with Ax Crypt 1.6, I think...
So I tested on 80 GB of videos, 2* 40, and both folders crashed...
Then I found the temp file, and by dragging it into the program, it recognizes it, but the same goes for unmasking.... it always crashes at the same point...
I've tried lots of things, subfolders, recreating, etc... failure every time, so programs that are supposed to protect data but make it inaccessible is quite the irony...

I think I am smart enough to say that I know nothing...

hamza solution
it's very simple to obtain it, go to the winmed page
1-hide the file
2-show the file
for most people the file or folder is missing, it's not true but it has just changed its location, how to make it visible then
1-select the file
2-right-click with the mouse
3-view path and show will appear
4-select view path and the file will be visible
