Hello,

I want to install SolidWorks 2008 SP0.0 on Windows Vista x64, and when I try to start the installation, Windows gives me the following message:

Windows Vista x64 is not a supported operating system. Please install a supported operating system.

Does anyone have a solution???
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.5 SW 2008 SP0.0

    Hi,
Yes, it is possible to set up a dual boot XP/Vista x64 (or Vista x86/Vista x64), that's how I'm running it ;) and precisely for the same reason as you (many programs do not work under Vista x64, including SolidWorks).
I am at your disposal for more details on the dual boot ;)

    Hello everyone,
To install Solidworks 2008 sp0 on win7, you simply need to go to the directory Solidworks\swwi\data\French_i386_SolidWorks.msi. Right-click and troubleshoot compatibility.

    There you go, it's done...

Hi, I have the same problem but with the 2009 version

I can't install it and frankly, I don't really want to change my OS

    Anyone have an idea???
Can you install both Vista 64-bit and Vista 32-bit on the same PC?

I have 2 hard drives on my laptop!

    Thanks in advance

Try contacting the manufacturer or the dealer; maybe they can provide you with a solution for your problem. In any case, all I can tell you is that it works very well under XP SP3 32 bit.
