Debug

Solved
Hello,

Hello everyone, I'm starting with C programming, I downloaded Code::Blocks but every time I want to compile, it writes at the bottom
Selecting target:
Debug
ERROR: You need to specify a debugger program in the debugger's settings.
(For MinGW compilers, it's 'gdb.exe' (without the quotes))
(For MSVC compilers, it's 'cdb.exe' (without the quotes))
I didn't understand what to do, thank you for replying

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 51.0.2704.103

  1. If you are starting out in programming, now is the time to explain what a debugger is (since a solution to the problem has already been provided)!
It is a program (yes, as you know, Code::Blocks is an IDE, meaning it is a software that brings together several existing programs such as the compiler, assembler, linker, debugger, and a few others; generally, it offers several choices for each of these programs) that allows you to execute the program line by line in order to precisely find the point that prevents it from functioning.
The debugger is therefore only useful if the program does not work, but you will quickly realize that no "big" program works on the first try and that the debugger is just indispensable.

There are also other types of debuggers (for example, memory allocators like Electric Fence), which you will very likely need to use as well.

    Curiosity is an excellent quality!
